Kadarius Toney has made plenty of headlines this year for his untimely mistakes that have proved costly to the Kansas City Chiefs at times. Toney made the rounds again in the NFL world Sunday ahead of the Chiefs’ AFC Championship Game clash with the Baltimore Ravens as he made some surprising allegations about his status this week.
Kadarius Toney: “I’m Not Hurt”
Toney went on Instagram Live Sunday morning and got into a profanity-filled rant about his injury status ahead of Kansas City’s AFC Championship Game.
He has been inactive since last appearing in Week 15 of the regular season and has been listed on the injury report for several weeks running. The third-year wide receiver disputed just how injured he truly is during the IG Live session, however.
“I’m not hurt,” Toney said. “On God. Not hurt, none of that.”
That was just part of Toney’s profanity-filled rant regarding reports around him and his injury status, calling the reporting around his status false and insulting those who reported he is out for Sunday’s game due to injury. He also implied that his injury designations continue changing due to their falsity.
Toney has been sidelined due to injury since appearing in Kansas City’s Week 15 matchup with the New England Patriots.
He did not practice at all in Weeks 16 and 17, both times listed as out due to a hip injury. He was a limited participant early in Week 18 before not practicing the remainder of the week and again being inactive, this time due to hip/ankle.

That same hip/ankle designation was included as he was a limited participant all three days leading up to both the Wild Card and Divisional Round games before being ruled out.
He was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice this week before being limited on Thursday and Friday, then ruled out due to personal/hip.
The personal part of the designation comes from Toney having his first child on Saturday night. NFL Network’s James Palmer reported, however, that he was ruled out for Sunday’s game due to the hip injury.
Toney seemed to dispute this claim with his IG Live rant on Sunday.
Still, it’s unclear how much of a role he would have played even if he were active for the Chiefs. Toney has been up-and-down through 13 regular-season appearances as he tallied just 27 catches for 169 yards and one touchdown, along with five drops, an issue that has plagued much of Kansas City’s receiver room.
He and fellow wide receiver Mecole Hardman have both been the subject of criticism on the year for their costly miscues at various points in the season.
Now, the Chiefs have another controversy on their hands involving the WR corps.
