Super Bowl Logo Conspiracy Theory Explained: Has the NFL Really Revealed a 49ers vs. Ravens Finale?

    Published on

Is there something to the Super Bowl logo conspiracy theory? We dive deeper into the viral rumor going around regarding the design.

There’s nothing quite like a good conspiracy to get the juices flowing. Add the fact it has something to do with the NFL and the upcoming Super Bowl, and minds can begin to start racing with the possibilities.

Such is the case for this year’s Super Bowl logo and the idea that the teams who are set to play in the big game have already been decided — based on the color of the logo. Let’s take a closer look at the conspiracy and see where all this has come from.

    Super Bowl Logo Conspiracy Theory

Every season there is a brand new Super Bowl logo that is created and used for the big game.

The logo is designed with the host city in mind and uses artistic elements to combine the Roman numerals that accompany the year and something that ties the area together.

However, some have begun to notice an interesting trend that has some believing that there is much more to the logo than just artistic creativity. Something more like a predestined matchup, with the logo as the context clue to put it together.

“X” user “NFL Memes” posted the logo of the two prior Super Bowls and the teams that played in those games. What has been discovered by the account is the uncanny resemblance of the logo color to the teams who participated in the game.

Super Bowl LVI featured orange and yellow colors throughout their logo. Coincidentally, the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams, with both orange and yellow being primary colors, squared off in that matchup.

Last year, in Super Bowl LVII, the logo’s colors featured red and green. And as we know, the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs competed in last year’s big game.

The two coincidences were enough for people to raise eyebrows about the situation, especially with the potential for the “logo color theory” to come true once again this year.

This year’s logo features red and purple which have many believing that this will now set up a San Francisco 49ers vs. Baltimore Ravens matchup in the Super Bowl as a result.

Despite the logo being released merely one day following last year’s contest conclusion, if the Ravens and 49ers were to meet in this year’s game, the flames of conspiracy would be stoked to great heights.

Baltimore and San Francisco are both No. 1 seeds for their respective conferences, and a matchup should not surprise anyone if it were to happen. However, if it comes true, this conspiracy that has swept through the NFL world won’t be going away anytime soon.
