DeSean Jackson Picks Chiefs Over Ravens Because of Taylor Swift – “NFL Gonna Want Her in the Super Bowl”

Former NFL WR DeSean Jackson provided a surprising reason for picking the Chiefs over the Ravens for the AFC Championship Game.

The relationship between Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has been a storyline throughout the NFL season. “Is Taylor going to the game?” or “How many times will they show Taylor during the broadcast?” have been fan discussions and debates on game days.

The Chiefs visit the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday for the AFC Championship and a trip to the Super Bowl. Some people in the media joke that there’s a conspiracy theory that the NFL wants the Chiefs and Taylor Swift in the Super Bowl.

DeSean Jackson Picks Chiefs and Taylor Swift To Win

Former NFL wide receiver DeSean Jackson was on the “Up & Adams” show, and host Kay Adams asked him for his AFC Championship pick. He initially pointed to Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid as reasons for picking Kansas City.

Jackson said, “It’s hard to pick against Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid for one. For two, Taylor Swift. It’s a lot about Taylor Swift. I think [the NFL is] gonna want her to be in the Super Bowl.”

Jackson added, “As much as I want to pick Lamar Jackson because I feel like they’ve been on fire all year, I feel like [the NFL] just gonna want Taylor Swift to be in the booth and show her all day.”

Jackson said his heart wants to pick the Ravens because he believed all year they would make the Super Bowl. He added, “My gut is telling me they want Taylor Swift in there so they can show her like 20 times a game.”

Adams followed up by asking Jackson to confirm that it’s not about Kelce, Mahomes, or the Chiefs experience, but it’s about Swift. Jackson said, “Yes, Taylor, I think they’re gonna show her all game. I want to watch the football game. Taylor Swift, you’re amazing. You’re great. Goddess person.”

Adams told him that part of social media will love him and part of social media will tear him apart. Jackson said, “I’m here for it.”

Jackson announced his retirement this year after 15 seasons with six teams. He has connections to both teams, having played his first five seasons for Reid with the Philadelphia Eagles, and he finished his career playing seven games with the Ravens last season.

Jackson made the Pro Bowl three times and was a member of the Los Angeles Rams for the first part of the 2021 season but was released before they reached and won the Super Bowl.
