The Baltimore Ravens are minutes away from securing a trip to the AFC Championship Game, but RB Gus Edwards may have suffered an injury in the fourth quarter. What happened to Edwards on Saturday, and what’s his current injury status?
Gus Edwards Injury Update
With the Ravens leading 24-10 with roughly 12 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Edwards appeared to suffer an injury after taking a handoff for one yard.
Edwards went to Baltimore’s sideline, where the Ravens’ medical staff appeared to evaluate his left hand.

Edwards did not return for the rest of Baltimore’s offensive drive. Six of the Ravens’ next seven plays were rush attempts, with Justice Hill, Dalvin Cook, and Lamar Jackson handling two each. Jackson’s second attempt culminated with an eight-yard TD that gave Baltimore a 31-10 lead.
The Ravens haven’t announced an update on Edwards’ status. With Saturday’s game well in hand, Baltimore has no reason to re-insert the veteran runner into the contest.

Edwards, 28, posted 10 carries for 40 scoreless yards before departing. He led the Ravens with 198 attempts during the regular season, finished second to Jackson with 810 rushing yards, and tied for fifth in the NFL with 13 rushing TDs.
Baltimore already lost RBs J.K. Dobbins and Keaton Mitchell to season-ending injuries. If Edwards isn’t available for next week’s AFC title game, Hill and Cook will handle the Ravens’ backfield workload. Veteran Melvin Gordon III, who appeared in four games with Baltimore in 2023, could be promoted from the club’s practice squad.
