The Baltimore Ravens have proven to not only be a top team in the NFL, but they’ve also proved to be one of the most physical teams, with a tough defense and a physical running game that includes the elusiveness of quarterback Lamar Jackson.
With their ability to be physical on both sides of the ball, adding some more juice to the running game can never hurt. Such is the case with Baltimore adding running back Dalvin Cook to the mix for the playoff run. Cook was sparingly used while with the New York Jets this year but has since joined the Ravens ahead of the playoffs.
With Cook now in the fold, how much is he making to do so?
Dalvin Cook’s Contract Details With Baltimore Ravens
With Cook being added to the roster ahead of the playoffs, he doesn’t have the typical contract structure of a regular-season veteran.
Cook adjusted his contract with the Jets to facilitate his release. In doing so, he waived contract guarantees for the team which made it easier for both parties to go their separate ways.
Now as a member of the Ravens, according to Spotrac, Cook signed a one-year, $289,800 contract with Baltimore.
In addition to his agreed-upon contract, NFL players are allotted a certain amount of compensation depending on how far a team makes it in the playoffs, with a Super Bowl victory paying out the highest total.
Cook’s Veteran Presence in Baltimore
With Cook now in the fold, he brings a veteran presence and fresh legs to a Ravens running game that is looking to lean on defenses in the playoffs.
Baltimore has been ravaged by injuries at the position, and while the Ravens have been productive despite that, Cook may be able to make plays on the field and bring a presence of leadership to the group.
No question that Cook is the freshest he’s ever been to this point in a season in his career. The veteran RB has only tallied 67 carries this season, a far cry from the 264 he had just the year prior.

The fit in New York was not a good one, as the Jets’ offense drastically changed when Aaron Rodgers went down with an injury. That situation mixed with the fact that Breece Hall regained his form after a knee injury the year prior, signaled a less-than-ideal situation for Cook.
Now with that in the past, Cook has a chance to help a team that is in win-now mode and just three wins from getting the first Super Bowl of his career.
