Rashee Rice became the Kansas City Chiefs‘ WR1 over the second half of the 2023 campaign, and his emergence carried over into Saturday night’s Wild Card game against the Miami Dolphins. But the second-round rookie appeared to suffer an injury early in the third quarter. What happened to Rice, and what’s his current status?

    Rashee Rice Injury Update

Rice was banged up after making his seventh catch with 11:09 remaining in the third quarter. That 10-yard reception put Rice, who scored a touchdown to culminate the end of the Chiefs’ first drive, at 102 yards for the game.

Rice was slow to get up and walked gingerly off the field. While he received sideline attention, Rice didn’t enter the blue medical or leave for Kansas City’s locker room.

Fortunately, Rice re-entered Saturday’s game while the Chiefs were on the same offensive drive. He appears to have avoided a severe injury.
