The Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs meet in an AFC Wild Card game tonight at 8 p.m. ET on Peacock. This is a rematch of a Week 9 game played in Germany that the Chiefs won 21-14. Miami is making consecutive playoff appearances for the first time since 1997-2001, while the Chiefs are trying to make the Divisional Round for the sixth straight year.
This is the first NFL playoff game exclusively aired on a streaming service. The game will be available in Miami and Kansas City on local NBC stations.
Who Are the Game Announcers for Dolphins-Chiefs?
Mike Tirico and Garrett are in the booth, with Kaylee Hartung as the sideline reporter and Terry McAulay as the rules analyst.
This is the first of two games for Tirico this weekend. He will travel to Detroit for the Rams-Lions on Sunday night. He will be back with his usual team of Cris Collinsworth and Melissa Stark for the game.
Tirico is in his second season as the play-by-play announcer for Sunday Night Football. He joined NBC in 2012 and has hosted several events, including the Olympics, the Indianapolis 500, and golf’s U.S. Open and Open Championship.
Tirico spent 25 years at ESPN and was the Monday Night Football play-by-play announcer for 10 seasons.
Garrett is in his second season with NBC and is usually an analyst during Football Night in America and halftime on Sunday nights. He is also an analyst for Notre Dame games on NBC. Garrett called a Sunday night game with Tirico during Thanksgiving weekend when Collinsworth was off.
Garrett played in two playoff games during his career, one with the Dallas Cowboys and one with the New York Giants. He completed all three passes for 18 yards in limited postseason playoff time. Garrett was a member of the Cowboys when the team won three Super Bowls in four seasons.

Hartung has been the sideline reporter for the last two seasons on Amazon Prime’s Thursday Night Football. She has worked with ESPN, the Longhorn Network, the SEC Network, CNN, and ABC during her career. Hartung is currently a contributing correspondent for NBC’s “TODAY Show.”
McAulay joined NBC as a rules analyst in 2018 after 20 years as an on-field NFL official. He was a referee for 17 seasons and was assigned to the Super Bowl three times.
How Did Peacock Get a Playoff Game?
The Wall Street Journal reported that NBCUniversal and the league agreed to a one-year deal worth around $110 million. This is the second game exclusively on Peacock this season.
The Buffalo Bills and San Diego Chargers played on the streaming service in Week 16. This game will also feature a commercial-free fourth quarter, like the Week 16 game.
When the deal was announced in the spring, NFL executive vice president and chief operating officer of NFL Media Hans Schroeder said, “We like the plan that Peacock and NBC put together. In this case, knowing we’re going to have a bigger audience, and focused on having the widest reach possible across each platform.”
Peacock had exclusive rights to a Sunday MLB game the last two seasons, along with exclusive coverage for some Olympic events and Premier League games.
