Quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ Achilles injury four plays into the season derailed the New York Jets’ chances at the playoffs. After finishing with a 7-10 record and some uncertainty about the future of the franchise, the team looks to regroup in the offseason and help Rodgers out with some youth being added through the 2024 NFL Draft.
New York Jets 2024 NFL Draft Picks
New York goes into the 2024 draft with just five picks following the trade last offseason that sent Rodgers from Green Bay. As a result, the Jets do not have a second- or fifth-round pick.
- Round 1, Pick 10: Keon Coleman, WR, Florida State
- Round 3, Pick 72: Ruke Orhorhoro, DT, Clemson
- Round 4, Pick 107: Delmar Glaze, OT, Maryland
- Round 4, Pick 109: Jaden Hicks, S, Washington State
- Round 6, Pick 169: Tanor Bortolini, C, Wisconsin
New York Jets 7-Round 2024 NFL Mock Draft
The Jets gambled on adding veteran players around the offense, including Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, and Dalvin Cook. Results were mixed among the players, however, as Cook is already gone from the team with the future of others still in question.
Youth will be a focus in the offseason as that might have to come through free agency, but the draft will at least give the Jets a few pieces to develop and work with. New York has options with the 10th overall pick to bring in a guy who can play right away.
Round 1, Pick 10: Keon Coleman, WR, Florida State
Explosive, lengthy, and strong-handed wide receiver Keon Coleman is everything an NFL team wants in a modern receiver. Last season for the Seminoles, Coleman finished with 658 yards and 11 touchdowns as the team struggled at quarterback after the late-season Jordan Travis injury.

QB play was also a factor in the Jets’ offense in 2023, but Garrett Wilson still produced over 1,000 yards with the next leading wide receiver being Lazard with 311. With Rodgers returning, Lazard’s production should pick up, but New York needs another receiver to be the No. 2 or 3 guy. Coleman can develop to be a good one-two punch with Wilson.
Round 3, Pick 72: Ruke Orhorhoro, DT, Clemson
While Clemson’s offense left much to be desired, the defense was stacked with talent including defensive tackle Ruke Orhorhoro. He started every game in 2023, racking up 22 tackles and five sacks on the season, earning third-team All-ACC honors.
Entering the NFL, Orhorhoro comes in a bit undersized at defensive tackle, but that would deceive teams from seeing his run-stopping abilities. His strength helps him get to the quarterback at a higher rate than the average DT. With Quinton Jefferson and Al Woods entering free agency, Orhorhoro makes for a good rotational player on the line.
Round 4, Pick 107: Delmar Glaze, OT, Maryland
Maryland OT Delmar Glaze was stout as Taulia Tagovailoa’s left tackle earning a third-team All-Big Ten selection in 2023. Glaze also received an invite to the Senior Bowl.
The Jets will see tackles Duane Brown and Billy Turner head to free agency. Both players are in their 30s, so the team needs to get younger on the offensive line. Glaze can develop into a role player or starter on the line with some time to learn.
Round 4, Pick 109: Jaden Hicks, S, Washington State
Over the last two seasons, Jaden Hicks has performed well in Washington State’s secondary, producing 151 tackles, 10 pass deflections, 3.5 sacks, three interceptions, one forced fumble, and one touchdown. He too will be heading to the Senior Bowl after receiving an invite.

With Jordan Whitehead entering free agency, Hicks could be a guy the Jets look to in order to fill in or develop as a future starter. Hicks is a solid tackler who plays well in coverage so he would be a good fit for the Jets’ defense.
Round 6, Pick 169: Tanor Bortolini, C, Wisconsin
If there are safe bets on players who can succeed in the NFL, it’s offensive linemen who come from Wisconsin.
Tanor Bortolini started 12 games for the Badgers at center this season and 34 overall in his career playing center, guard, and tackle. Like others in this mock, Bortolini will be heading to the Senior Bowl from an invite he received.
With an older Jets offensive line, Bortolini would not only add youth to the line but give New York a lineman who can jump into any position on the line. That type of versatility could keep him in the NFL for a long time.
