The 2023-24 NFL regular season has ended, meaning it’s time for the playoffs, which starts this week with Super Wild Card Weekend. There’s no longer room for error.

The Ravens finished the 2023 season with a 13-4 record, earning the AFC’s top seed. With that, it means they have a first-round bye and will not play in the Wild Card round.
Baltimore will return in the Divisional Round against whoever the lowest remaining AFC seed is.
To receive the top seed, the Ravens had to go through one of the toughest schedules in the NFL, including seven different playoff teams. Those teams include the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns twice each, along with the Houston Texans, Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, and Miami Dolphins.
The Ravens’ only losses came to the Steelers (twice), the Browns, and the Indianapolis Colts. Baltimore’s fourth loss came in Week 18 when the team opted to bench all of their starters as a health precaution.
One reason the Ravens were able to find so much success this season was their quarterback. Lamar Jackson re-signed with the team before the season on a five-year, $260 million contract, including $185 million guaranteed.
Since signing his new contract, Jackson has gone on to have an MVP-caliber season. According to USA Today, he has the best odds to win the award at -10000 with a strong lead over Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott in second place.
With Jackson at the helm, the Ravens have earned the sixth-best total offense, averaging 370.4 yards per game and scoring 55 touchdowns, which is the fifth most in the NFL this season.

Another reason for Baltimore’s success has been its defense — one of the best in the NFL. According to FOX Sports, the Ravens rank sixth in total defense, allowing just 301.4 yards per game. They’ve also only allowed 26 touchdowns on the season, the best in the NFL. The Ravens additionally have four Pro Bowlers on defense.
Baltimore was able to clinch the AFC’s top seed when they defeated the 49ers and Dolphins in back-to-back weeks, despite both being contenders for the Super Bowl.
