Buccaneers RB Rachaad White appeared to suffer an injury on Sunday. What's the latest on White as Tampa Bay is in the midst of a must-win game?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in the midst of a must-win game against the Carolina Panthers, but they might be concerned about one of their top offensive playmakers. Running back Rachaad White appeared to get banged up just before Sunday’s contest went to halftime.

    Rachaad White Injury Update

White hauled in a two-yard pass from QB Baker Mayfield with 48 seconds remaining in the second quarter but was injured on the play.

While the second-year back quickly jogged off the sideline, he appeared to be in pain after departing the field. White stood next to a trainer and looked to be examining his right shin, but he also pointed to his right arm.

Fortunately, White was able to return to the game when Tampa Bay began its first offensive drive of the third quarter.

Had White been sidelined, the Bucs would have turned to fellow running backs Chase Edmonds and Sean Tucker to carry the load for the rest of Sunday’s game.

White has dominated Tampa Bay’s RB touches in 2023, handling 313 combined rush attempts and receptions through Week 17.

The 2022 third-round pick posted 915 yards and six touchdowns on the ground but was even more effective in the passing game. White ranked third among RBs in receiving yards (531), fifth in receptions (60), and sixth in receiving success rate (53%).

The Buccaneers will win the NFC South with a win over the Panthers. But they’ll be removed from the playoffs entirely if they lose to Carolina. The winner of Sunday’s Atlanta Falcons-New Orleans Saints will claim the division title instead.
