Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert has been one of the most valuable players in fantasy football this season. However, while he has carried a lot of teams for fantasy managers, he is currently at risk of not playing in Week 18.
Mostert is currently questionable after receiving hits in the Dolphins’ Week 17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He suffered both knee and ankle injuries in the game.
Will Mostert play tonight against the Buffalo Bills? What is the latest update concerning his injuries? And, if Mostert cannot play tonight, who are the potential fantasy options for fantasy managers chasing a fantasy championship?
Is Raheem Mostert Going To Play Week 18?
While the AFC East title is currently up for grabs, the Dolphins have already secured a playoff spot and will play next week. With that in mind, they will likely exercise caution with Mostert’s ankle and knee injuries.
Mostert did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday. However, he returned to practice on Friday, albeit in a limited capacity to give fantasy managers a small hope for playing this week.
However, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network provided an update on Mostert’s status for tonight earlier this morning. He posted on social media platform X, “#Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (knee/ankle) and WR Jaylen Waddle (ankle) — both listed as questionable — are not expected to play Sunday night vs. the #Bills, per me and @RapSheet. Both should be ready for the playoffs. But Miami will try to win the AFC East without them.”
Therefore, it appears Mostert will not suit up tonight — fantasy managers should seek alternative options. However, who should those options be?
Potential Fantasy Options If Mostert Is Out Include Zamir White and De’Von Achane
With Mostert likely to be out tonight, two players who could be on fantasy managers’ benches who are likely to have productive days are Zamir White and De’Von Achane.
White comes into this game as the RB8 over the past three weeks since he stepped in for Josh Jacobs. Jacobs is sidelined and will not play today, meaning autonomy for White in the Las Vegas Raiders’ backfield this afternoon.

White is currently the RB11 in our PFN Consensus Rankings after recent performances. The Raiders play the Denver Broncos today, who are giving up 24.7 fantasy points to running backs so far this season. That is second to the Arizona Cardinals in the league. White is a must-start in all formats.
As is De’Von Achane. He is playing hurt but logged his first full practice in several weeks on Friday and has no designation going into today. He is currently the RB15 in our PFN Consensus Rankings.
With the Dolphins missing Jaylen Waddle and Mostert, not many playmakers are left on the roster to assist Tua Tagovailoa and the offense in getting the ball down the field. Expect some creative plays being cooked up for Achane to get him in space and utilize his burst and speed, similar to how he was used in the earlier part of the season.
Achane represents good value and could carry RB1 upside with a show-stopping performance if given the volume today.
