BALTIMORE — Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert — the NFL leader in rushing touchdowns — will be inactive Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens due to knee and ankle injuries, NFL Network first reported.
Mostert becomes the second offensive star unavailable for the most significant game of the Dolphins’ season.
Jaylen Waddle (high ankle sprain) was ruled out Friday.
Miami Dolphins Will Be Without Raheem Mostert vs. Ravens
Mostert has been dealing with a minor knee injury for some time, but he also hurt his ankle last week against the Dallas Cowboys. As a result, he barely practiced this week, and was listed as questionable for the Ravens game.
However, per ESPN, Mostert “could not turn the corner this week as fast as he usually does, and the Dolphins are not comfortable putting him out there today.”
Mostert leads the Dolphins in carries (209), rushing yards (1,012), rushing touchdowns (18), and total touchdowns (21). The final two stats are team records.
He is one of just two Dolphins offensive players to start every game this season. Tua Tagovailoa is the other.
With him down, expect a heavy workload for rookie De’Von Achane, who is averaging 8.1 yards per attempt this year and ranks second on the team in carries (79) and touchdowns (637).
Jeff Wilson Jr. becomes the Dolphins’ RB2 this week, while Chris Brooks will likely get the most extensive work since Week 3 when he rushed nine times for 66 yards.
But many of those snaps came when the game was long decided. Sunday, against perhaps the best team in not just the AFC, but the entire league, will be an entirely different story.

The Ravens rank first in scoring defense (16.3) and yards per play (5.1), although teams have some success against them on the ground. They rank 22nd in yards per carry (4.4).
Wilson could become the team’s red-zone back. He is the most physical of the three available running backs.
