CeeDee Lamb continues to etch his name into the history books this season. His unbelievable talent was shining bright in the Dallas Cowboys‘ 20-19 win against the Detroit Lions on Saturday.
CeeDee Lamb’s 92-Yard Beauty
During the game, Lamb had 227 receiving yards on 13 receptions and one incredible touchdown. That touchdown was 92 yards down the field after a short-yard pass from Dak Prescott that could have easily been a safety.

Lamb described the touchdown as an opportunity, saying, “Shoutout Dak [Prescott] for using his legs, and I just did what I could to stay available, and once he games me the opportunity, I took it.”
This touchdown marked Lamb’s eighth straight game with a score, the longest active streak in the NFL, and the first time a receiver has done so in Cowboys’ franchise history.
Prescott had one word to describe Lamb’s performance: Remarkable.
“Remarkable, that’s what CeeDee Lamb is,” said Prescott, adding, “What a great opportunity for him just to have the game that he had tonight understanding that he was coming into this game with records on the line.”

It was the longest completion in Prescott’s career and the second longest in Cowboys history.
As for how Lamb sees himself in the hierarchy of receivers in the NFL? That’s a question he didn’t want to answer.
“I’m not answering that question. I’ll let everybody else answer that. I’m going to continue to keep working, that’s for sure, and well, keep stringing games together,” said Lamb.
Lamb Continues To Make History
But this wasn’t the only record Lamb surpassed with his productive night. He also surpassed multiple records of Michael Irvin’s as well.
With one regular-season game left, Lamb has 1,651 receiving yards, a single-season franchise record, surpassing Irvin’s 1,603 receiving yards in 1995.
Also, with 13 receptions, Lamb has 122 this season, passing Irvin’s 111 from the same 1995 season, giving the former the most receptions in a season in Cowboys history.
After the game, Lamb was asked if he had heard from Irvin yet, to which he responded, “Nah, not necessarily, but I know I know I’m going to hear from him soon.”
Lamb Praised By Those Around Him
Dallas head coach Mike McCarthy discussed Lamb and Prescott’s connection, which has consistently been on full display all season.
“Those two guys have taken it to another level. But I don’t know how many yards he had after the catch, but I know it was a bunch. And so yeah, just a complete, complete receiver,” said McCarthy.
His fellow receiver, Brandin Cooks, also praised the young WR, saying Lamb was electric and made the offense better when he got the ball in his hands.

The veteran receiver says his challenge for Lamb is to keep playing at this level in the team’s final regular-season game and in the playoffs.
If it’s up to Prescott, the two aren’t done breaking records and playing at this level.
“He’s really just getting going, and I can tell you as long as I’m here, he’ll probably stack these records each and every year, to be honest with you. This is only the beginning,” said Prescott.
