The Top TEs To Start in Week 17
Gerald Everett, TE, Los Angeles Chargers (at Broncos)
Analysis by Kyle Soppe | If you’re streaming the TE position, you’re grasping for any optimistic trend that you can get. In the first two games with Easton Stick playing significant time, Gerald Everett posted a solid 22.2% target share, and then last week against the Buffalo Bills, the creativity of the Los Angeles Chargers with their versatile tight end was on full display.
Coming out of the first quarter break, a red-zone screen pass out of a unique formation went his way, and it was followed on a scramble drill by Stick that resulted in Everett adapting his route and being tackled at the one-yard line.

You’re not going to find a perfect tight end on your wire, and Everett isn’t the exception. We’ve seen a capped yardage ceiling all season long (yet to reach 50 yards), and his next season with five touchdown catches will be his first.
But in an offense with limited options, Everett’s volume (8+ targets in three straight, his three highest target totals of the season) appears safe, and in a low-octane pass game, that role projects well in a PPR setting.
