Cleveland Browns QB Joe Flacco has been a fun story to watch unfold over the last month of the season. A proven veteran quarterback with a Super Bowl championship pedigree has jumped off the couch and led the Browns to a 4-1 record and playoff appearance since joining the team.
Flacco has had a successful NFL career that began in 2008 when he was drafted 18th overall by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the NFL Draft. He played college football for the University of Delaware and was the first FCS QB to be selected in the first round of the NFL Draft since Steve McNair did so in 1995.
Flacco is now in his 16th NFL season with his fourth team. He spent the first 11 seasons of his career with the Ravens. Following his stint there, he spent the 2019 season with the Denver Broncos and the next three with the New York Jets.

In addition to his on-field earned income, Flacco has done many endorsements throughout his career.
In 2008, he signed a three-year contract with Reebok, and from 2009 to 2010, he was a spokesperson for Pizza Hut. Other endorsements include working with Nike, Haribo, 1st Mariner Bank, and McDonald’s.

The Browns had struggled to find a quarterback to complement their high-flying defense. Deshaun Watson was hurt, and others were getting banged up or not getting the job done.
Following those results, Cleveland ended up signing Flacco to try and bring some stability to the unit. It has done that and then some. His contract with the Browns is a one-year $2.5 million deal.
Since Flacco joined the team, the Browns have gone 4-1 and secured the fifth seed in the AFC playoffs. He sat out Week 18, but in his five starts he passed for 1,616 yards, 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
Flacco doesn’t have to be a superhero on Sundays, he just needs to continue to manage the game and let the Browns’ defense make plays. If they can continue to do so, the sky is the limit for Flacco and this year’s Cleveland team.
