John Harbaugh and Brock Purdy Go Viral in Hilarious Back and Forth After Monday Night Football – “People Tell Me We Look Alike”

Despite what turned out to be the worst game of his professional career, Brock Purdy was still able to share a funny moment with John Harbaugh.

Christmas Day 2023 is one that San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy is probably not going to look back on too fondly in the future. In what was a good old-fashioned beat down at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens, Purdy had the worst game of his professional career. Four interceptions and a stinger later, he exited early, as the 49ers suffered a 33-19 defeat.

Despite what was a frustrating night for all on the 49ers sideline, the night did not finish without a little bit of laughter injected into it. That laugh was provided by Ravens HC John Harbaugh directed towards Purdy following his team’s impressive win.

When your team just manhandled a team that many believed to be the class of the NFL, you’re surely going to be in a good mood. Such was the case for Harbaugh following the big-time win on Christmas night. And that good mood turned into some jokes with Purdy following the game.

As the teams convened following the contest, Harbaugh and Purdy met at midfield. When they did, Harbaugh made sure to let Purdy know that there may be a resemblance between the two.

Before even saying hello to the quarterback, Harbaugh stuck his hand out for a shake and stated “People tell me we look alike.”

The two laughed it off, as Purdy retorted back, “Hey, my dad looks just like you,” before the two exchanged a hug.

Harbaugh finished the interaction by telling the young quarterback, “I have a lot of respect for you brother. You’re doing a great job.”

It was as wholesome and light-hearted of an interaction as you will find post-game between a player and an opposing coach — especially considering how the game went for the two sides.

Ravens Show Purdy Who the Class of the NFL Is

In what was supposed to be the best game of a fun holiday weekend of action, it turned into the Ravens leaving no doubt about who the class of the NFL is.

Purdy threw four interceptions on the night and ultimately dug a big enough hole that the 49ers simply just could not climb out of.

However, one game does not define a career. Despite the worst game of his signal-caller’s life, 49ers HC Kyle Shanahan is still very confident in his quarterback going forward.

“He stayed in there, kept battling,” Shanahan said. “Our whole team struggled there in the second half, so it just wasn’t him. I know he was disappointed not being able to finish it there, but given that stinger again, I just wanted to keep him out of there. Ready for him to bounce back next week.”

As for the quarterback on the other side, Ravens’ QB Lamar Jackson made his case for being the league’s MVP on Monday night, and Harbaugh thinks so too.

“I thought Lamar had an MVP performance tonight,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. “It takes a team to create a performance like that, but it takes a player to play at that level — to play at an MVP level — it takes a player to play that way. And Lamar was all over the field doing everything.”
