The Miami Dolphins can hardly afford to lose running back Raheem Mostert, who’s tied with Chrisitan McCaffrey for the NFL lead in touchdowns (20). But Mostert appeared to suffer an injury in the Dolphins’ Week 16 game against the Dallas Cowboys. Here’s the latest.
Raheem Mostert Injury Update
Mostert appeared to get landed on by Dolphins offensive tackle Terron Armstead after taking a second-quarter rushing attempt for negative two yards. He grabbed at his lower left leg and stayed down on the field, where Miami’s medical staff examined him.
Mostert was eventually able to depart the field under his own power, but he was noticeably limping as he headed for the sideline.

While Mostert spent time in the blue medical tent on the Dolphins’ sideline, he returned to the bench with his helmet in his hand, a potential signal he was ready to re-enter Sunday’s game.

Mostert eventually returned to the game at the end of Miami’s next offensive drive and quickly caught a four-yard touchdown pass from Tua Tagovailoa.
What Would the Dolphins’ Offense Look Like Without Mostert?
Achane may be in line for significant work after Mostert got banged up in the first half. Prior to his injury, Mostert accounted for 31 rushing yards on nine carries, which has him sitting at 997 rushing yards on the season.
Despite some big games from Achane earlier this year, Mostert has been the leading man in Miami’s backfield with 20 total touchdowns on the year. Achane and Wilson would be the next players in line to see an expanded role while Mostert is out of the lineup.
