The Minnesota Vikings have already dealt with plenty of offensive injury issues this season, and they might have to sort through another problem. First-round rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison appeared to suffer an injury in the Vikings’ Week 16 game against the Detroit Lions. Here’s the latest.
Jordan Addison Injury Update
Addison was injured after Vikings quarterback Nick Mullens threw his second interception of the game near the end of the second quarter.
The first-year wideout appeared to run into his own teammate while Lions safety Kerby Joseph returned the intercepted pass. He subsequently entered the blue medical tent on Minnesota’s sideline for evaluation.

The Vikings initially announced that Addison is questionable to return with an ankle injury. He was spotted walking slowly to Minnesota’s locker room just before halftime.
However, Minnesota ruled Addison out at the start of the third quarter.
Addison has been a full-time player during his rookie campaign, seeing action on 83% of the Vikings’ offensive snaps entering Week 16. With reigning Offensive Player of the Year Justin Jefferson sidelined for seven games by a hamstring injury, Addison has been Minnesota’s de facto WR1 at times.

Injuries and ineffectiveness have forced the Vikings to cycle through Kirk Cousins, Jaren Hall, Joshua Dobbs, and Mullens under center, but Addison has remained productive.
Entering Week 16, he ranked first among NFL rookie wideouts in touchdowns (nine), second in yards (824), and fourth in receptions (62).
Fantasy Fallout From Addison’s Injury
If Addison is sidelined, K.J. Osborn’s usage will tick up, but not in a meaningful way for fantasy managers this time of year. Lineup locks like Jefferson and T.J. Hockenson will see further stability in their roles.
Instead, Addison’s injury makes the run game a little safer. Ty Chandler retains reasonable Flex value, even with Alexander Mattison healthy.
In terms of actionable moves, there’s nothing urgent that needs to be done as a result of this injury.
