Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill has been an important player for fantasy managers so far this season. He enters Week 16 as the WR1 overall in fantasy football. Nonetheless, Hill missed last week due to an ankle injury sustained in a Week 14 loss to the Tennessee Titans.
Hill is currently questionable with the same injury that ruled him out in Week 15. Will Hill play today against the Dallas Cowboys? What is the latest news regarding his injury? And, if he does play, what is Hill’s fantasy outlook for today?
Is Tyreek Hill Going To Play Week 16?
Hill missed Week 15 due to an ankle injury. The decision was left to him, and he did not feel like he could play through the injury last week.
Things looked more bleak for Hill managers when he did not practice on Wednesday. However, he practice on Thursday and Friday this week, albeit in a limited capacity. This is a good sign suggesting that Hill will likely play today.
And there was further news this morning. Adam Schefter of ESPN posted an update early this morning on X. He wrote, “Dolphins are optimistic that WR Tyreek Hill, who is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game due to an ankle injury, will play vs. the Cowboys, per source. They are said to just want to make sure how he is feeling Sunday before making a final decision on his status.”
I feel confident that Hill will start today and fantasy managers should feel confident putting Hill in their fantasy lineups. However, let’s take a closer look at his fantasy outlook for today against the Cowboys.
What Is Hill’s Potential Fantasy Outlook for Today?
With the WR1 overall in fantasy football likely to play today, he is an obvious selection for fantasy managers this week in their lineups.
The PFN Consensus Rankings have Hill as the WR2 overall on the week. However, I have him slightly lower this week, but well within the WR1 range.

The Dolphins have failed to beat a team with a winning record so far this season and followed a similar trend last season where they also struggled against teams with a winning record.
And, for fantasy purposes, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has struggled for fantasy points against teams who are in the top 16 against quarterbacks in terms of fantasy points allowed.
Tua is scoring less than 14.5 fantasy points a game against teams who are top-16 against quarterbacks. The Dallas Cowboys allow the 12th-least amount of points to quarterbacks, allowing just 15.8 fantasy points per game. While this will not stop Hill from being a WR1, it will cap his upside in reaching the higher scores that will be put up this week.
Fantasy managers can expect Hill to be highly productive and finish inside the top 12 of the position this week. Therefore, fantasy managers should start Hill in all formats: Expect Hill to score close to, or slightly more than, his 21.1 fantasy points per game average.
Fantasy managers should not expect 30 points or more from Hill this week as the Cowboys are only allowing 23.8 fantasy points per game to wide receivers. This is the fifth-least allowed in the NFL so far this season, with only the New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, Carolina Panthers, and Atlanta Falcons allowing fewer points than the Cowboys at the position so far this season.
