If you managed to advance to the next round of the fantasy football playoffs with rough fantasy outings from Dak Prescott, Sam Howell, and Justin Fields, then consider it an early Christmas gift and turn your attention to the next round.
Here are some of my start/sit options at the QB position for Week 16 of NFL action.
Which QB Should You Start in Fantasy This Week?
Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins
It may not have been the most productive day at the office for Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa, but he still managed to go 21 of 24 for 224 yards and a score against one of the best secondary units in the league on Sunday in the New York Jets.
The health of WR Tyreek Hill (ankle) will loom large over his fantasy outlook this week, but the Dolphins’ matchup against a high-powered Dallas Cowboys offense that was just embarrassed by the Buffalo Bills on Sunday should produce a high-scoring game script for Tagovailoa in Week 16.
Which QB Should You Sit in Fantasy This Week?
Sam Howell, Washington Commanders
The run of exceptional fantasy production from Sam Howell was really nice while it lasted, but his recent performances have his arrow pointing in the wrong direction.
Howell has thrown for under 150 yards in two straight games and was benched in favor of Jacoby Brissett against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. Howell will remain the starter, but he has a very tough matchup against a Jets defense that allows the second-fewest fantasy points per game to opposing QBs at 13.4 this season. I would avoid starting Howell at all costs in Week 16.

Should You Start Tua Tagovailoa or Jordan Love?
Fantasy managers haven’t seen Tagovailoa’s fantasy ceiling very often over the last five games, with two of those fantasy outings coming in under 10 fantasy points.

Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love, on the other hand, hasn’t had a single-digit fantasy performance since Week 5. Oddly enough, Love actually has the tougher fantasy matchup against the 2-12 Carolina Panthers, who have allowed an average of just 12.7 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks — which is the lowest mark in the league.
In a moment where I want someone I trust under center, I feel far more comfortable starting Tagovailoa in a potential high-scoring game over the up-and-down play of Love.
Should You Start Sam Howell or Gardner Minshew?
It is hard to confidently bench a player who currently sits as the QB7 in all of fantasy football through the first 15 weeks of the season, but Howell getting benched for Brissett does make me very weary of trusting him in my fantasy lineup.
On the other hand, Indianapolis Colts QB Gardner Minshew’s job is very secure heading into Indianapolis’ Week 16 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, which has me leaning towards Minshew this week.
