Kyler Murray Injury Update: What We Know About the Arizona Cardinals QB

    Published on

Kyler Murray has only been back on the field for five games, but he appeared to suffer another injury on Sunday. Here's the latest on the Cardinals QB.

The Arizona Cardinals welcomed Kyler Murray back into the fold as their starting quarterback in November after he spent the year recovering from a torn ACL. Just five games into his return, Murray appeared to suffer another injury on Sunday.

    Kyler Murray Injury Update

San Francisco 49ers defender Clelin Ferrell hit Murray after he completed a pass to tight end Trey McBride early in the third quarter. Murray stayed down on the field but was eventually able to head to the sideline under his own power.

Murray went into the medical tent, exited, and then went back in — all in the span of a few minutes.

Murray had completed 8 of 13 attempts for 98 yards and an interception and took two sacks before departing. He’d also managed 27 yards as a rusher.

Fortunately, Murray returned to Sunday’s game when the Cardinals began their next offensive drive. He appears to have avoided a significant injury.

Clayton Tune, Arizona’s fifth-round pick who started against the Cleveland Browns in Week 9, replaced Murray for two plays. He did not attempt a pass.

What Would Arizona’s Offense Look Like Without Murray?

Tune is the next man up under center for Arizona, which would instantly drop the fantasy value down for Trey McBride, Marquise Brown, and Michael Wilson if Murray were out of the lineup.

Tune completed 11 of 20 attempts for just 58 yards in his Week 11 start.
