What Happened to Randy Bullock? Latest Injury Update for Giants K

The 2023 NFL season has seen its fair share of kicker injuries, and it appears there was another in Week 15. Here's the latest on the Giants' Randy Bullock.

The New York Giants and injuries have been closely related in 2023, and in Week 15, kicker Randy Bullock joined the family tree. What happened, and who is the Giants’ emergency kicker?

    Randy Bullock Injury Update

Update 2:40 ET: Gillan made a 40-yard field goal, but at halftime, TE Lawrence Cager was also seen warming up to potentially kick.

After nailing a 56-yard field goal on the game’s opening drive, Bullock went straight to the blue medical tent on the sideline following the kickoff. He came out shortly after, stretched with a trainer, and headed for the locker room.

Bullock, who has now made 5 of 6 FG attempts in five games for the Giants this season, was officially ruled as questionable with a hamstring injury. As long as Bullock is against the Saints, expect punter Jamie Gillan (who has only attempted and missed one field goal in his NFL career) to handle field-goal duties, with backup QB Tyrod Taylor acting as the holder.

The Giants could also become more aggressive on fourth down in plus territory, opting not to utilize their punter’s leg on longer field goals.

After Graham Gano went down with a season-ending knee injury, the Giants brought on Bullock and Cade York, who is still on the practice squad. If Bullock’s hamstring injury extends beyond Week 15, New York will likely promote York to the starting kicker role.
