Miami Dolphins star wide receiver and fantasy football‘s No. 1-ranked wide receiver Tyreek Hill is currently struggling with an ankle injury to be fit for today’s game against the New York Jets.
Hill has an official questionable tag coming into this afternoon’s must-win game. It’s on the heels of the Dolphins’ embarrassing capitulation on Monday night against the Tennessee Titans which saw them blow a 14-point lead with three minutes to go, losing in regulation 28-27.
Will Hill play today against the Jets? What is the latest news regarding his injury? And, if Hill can play, what is his fantasy outlook against the Jets?
Editor’s Note: Tyreek Hill is inactive for the Miami Dolphins Week 15 matchup with the New York Jets.
Is Tyreek Hill Going To Play Week 15?
Hill has been struggling with an ankle injury he sustained in the defeat on Monday night against the Titans. As a result, he has not been able to practice all week. Hill failed to practice on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, leaving his availability to play this afternoon in doubt.
However, Adam Schefter of ESPN managed to provide further updates on Hill’s status this morning. He posted on X, “The Miami Dolphins plan to allow Pro Bowl wide receiver Tyreek Hill to determine whether he can play with his ankle injury Sunday against the New York Jets.”
Therefore, while Hill appears to be a game-time decision, given the nature of the game and the competitive nature of Hill, I would expect Hill to suit up and see how he goes today against the Jets.
However, even if he does go, what is his fantasy outlook for this afternoon’s game against the Jets?
What Is Hill’s Potential Fantasy Outlook for Today?
Hill comes into the fantasy playoffs as the WR1 overall in fantasy football. Hill has broken the 20-point barrier an astonishing nine times in 13 games so far this season. His lowest point total is 8.1 fantasy points, which was this past Monday night when he left the game injured.
Hill is ranked as the WR3 currently in our PFN Consensus Rankings. However, he does play the meanest defense in football when it comes to wide receivers this afternoon.

The Jets are only allowing 17 fantasy points per game to wide receivers so far this season, 5.5 less per game than the Cleveland Browns who are the second-best defense.
And quarterback Tua Tagovailoa struggles against teams who are top-16 against quarterbacks. Tua only put up 8.82 fantasy points against the Jets in Week 12. In the eight games he has played against teams who are in the top 16 against quarterbacks in terms of fantasy points allowed, Tua is averaging just 14.34 fantasy points so far this season.
I think Hill is a low-end WR1 this week. He did return 20.9 fantasy points against the Jets earlier in the season. However, with this ankle injury affecting him, I think he will struggle to break the 20-point barrier this week.
Fantasy managers have to start Hill if he is available this afternoon. However, I would be avoiding him in DFS lineups given the hefty price tag and the factors I have mentioned above. But in all other formats, Hill has to start.
Fantasy managers should temper expectations and look at their lineup builds with Hill potentially scoring under his expected points this week. Therefore, risks should be considered in other areas of their lineups.
