It has been tough sledding for the New York Giants this season. It was a year that was supposed to have such promise after a playoff win in the previous campaign. However, it has been anything but promising for the G-Men in 2023.
The one gift the Giants have given us is “Tommy Cutlets,” with the emergence of a third-string quarterback, Tommy DeVito. With Daniel Jones out for the year and backup QB Tyrod Taylor getting put on short-term injured reserve shortly after that, it became the DeVito show from there on out.
With the celebrity of DeVito growing, so has the discourse and intrigue around the player. With so many people intrigued by who he is and where he came from, some are trying to connect the dots around his family life. Could there be another famous DeVito that is related to Tommy? Let’s take a closer look to find out.
Are Tommy DeVito and Danny DeVito Related?
Despite how awesome of a story it would’ve been, there is no known connection between Tommy and the extremely talented actor, Danny DeVito.
Ironically, both of them share a last name and are both from Jersey. Yet, there still is no proof to suggest that they are actually related.
Danny DeVito was born in Neptune Township and raised in Asbury Park. Tommy DeVito was born in Livingston and lives in Cedar Grove. Neptune Township and Asbury Park are just over an hour’s drive from Livingston and Cedar Grove.
So they share a last name, are from the same state, and the towns they grew up in are just merely an hour away … but they share no relation.

Tommy’s own celebrity is growing, and if he continues to win football games for his hometown Giants, surely someone somewhere will begin to look deeper into his life and may be able to pull up some ancestry information that could build a possible connection.
Until then, Tommy has some more touchdowns to throw and homemade cutlets to eat as we await the latest intriguing storyline surrounding the young quarterback.
