Tommy DeVito has found himself the starting quarterback for the New York Giants after Daniel Jones tore his ACL in November.
With the Giants’ lack of offensive firepower, DeVito has plenty to worry about on the field. However, his living situation means he doesn’t have anything to worry about at home.
Tommy DeVito’s Living Arrangements
That’s because DeVito still lives at home with his parents, despite being 25 and earning an NFL salary.
Speaking to ESPN, DeVito explained living with his parents “was a no-brainer.” He said, “Everything that I need is there at the house. The decision was made since this level of football is stressful for a rookie, especially from the quarterback position. A lot is going on, a lot of meetings. So everything outside of football is handled by my family.”
DeVito also described how his living situation worked, saying, “I don’t have to worry about laundry, what I’m eating for dinner, chicken cutlets, and all that is waiting for me when I get there. My mom still makes my bed. Everything is handled for me. Honestly, I don’t even know if I could find a place closer to here than where I live. It takes me 12 minutes to get here.”
Despite playing in the NFL, the situation makes sense for DeVito. He’s a New York native, and his family home is just nine miles from MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Plus, when DeVito signed with the Giants, he signed a $750,000 contract, after joining as a UDFA out of Syracuse. DeVito was on the practice squad with the Giants before being elevated.
DeVito’s contract is a three-year contract worth a total of $2,705,000 but is not guaranteed, reports Spotrac.

When Devito’s living arrangements were exposed to his teammates, offensive lineman Justin Pugh had a great reaction.
“That is the greatest. You know what, smart!” Pugh said to ESPN. “Saving his money. Genius! That’s the one thing I’d say from a financial standpoint. Your mom helping with your wash, making sure you’re up on time, no distractions, unbelievable.”
Running back Saquon Barkley, on the other hand, laughed, responding, “For real?”
DeVito and his parents have also played host to several Giants players, with receivers Jalin Hyatt and Wan’Dale Robinson known to have visited. Hyatt said, “I’ve been over there. I love going to his spot. He has a little hot tub in the back. The crazy thing about it is he lives, maybe, 15 minutes away. So he’s close.”
