The Dallas Cowboys are now 10-3 after defeating the Philadelphia Eagles in a 33-13 statement win on Sunday night. After the game, Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones caught up with reporters and discussed the team’s win, saying this game was an additive for the team because no one is questioning their ability to compete after that kind of win.
The owner credited the Eagles, adding that the Cowboys knew what a good team they were heading into Sunday’s game, but Dallas has a good team, too.
Dallas Cowboys Are Proving They Are Contenders
The Cowboys have beaten their opponents by 20+ points eight times this season. They also have 15 straight home wins, which is the longest current active win streak in the NFL.
“I’m so proud of this team for stepping up,” said Jones, who recalled the Week 9 loss to the Eagles in a game of inches.
But that wasn’t the case tonight, as the Cowboys outscored the Eagles by 20 points and didn’t allow them to score an offensive touchdown during the game.
Jones told Jeffrey Lurie, the Eagles owner, “God, I hope we get to play again.”
This could very well be a possibility with how the NFC playoff picture is stacking up after Dallas’ win. It’s difficult not to get too ahead of things, especially with this win. But the Cowboys are proving themselves to be serious playoff contenders now more than ever.
Jerry Jones on Winning a Super Bowl With Dak Prescott
The owner also said he would be really disappointed if the team didn’t win the Super Bowl with Dak Prescott, who continues to be at the forefront of the MVP conversation.
“Dak [Prescott] is a player that’s qualified in every way to have a Super Bowl in his career,” said Jones.

If it’s up to Jones, history won’t repeat itself, as he said one of his career disappointments was not winning a Super Bowl title during the Tony Romo era.
Tonight, Prescott had 271 passing yards in 24 completions, two touchdowns, and a 61.5 completion percentage. The offense scored on every possession in the first half of the game for the first time since the team played the Minnesota Vikings in 2022.
Jones Gives Credit to Mike McCarthy
To Jones, a large part of the team’s success comes from Mike McCarthy’s efforts. This week, McCarthy had emergency surgery for acute appendicitis but still managed to set the team up for success by working remotely and having a game plan that the team’s coordinators could efficiently execute.
Jones said this was the most satisfying win of McCarthy’s last three seasons in Dallas. He also added how he was impressed with the head coach’s will to call plays despite being four days post-op.
“They’ve bought into his ideas, nuances, the changes that have been made on offense,” said Jones.
McCarthy now has 166 wins under his belt as the Cowboys’ head coach, and the sky looks to be the limit with how the team has been playing.
