The Cincinnati Bengals held their first full practice of the week today after going with a short walkthrough Wednesday following the road Monday night win at Jacksonville.
Fifty-two of the 53 players on the active roster were present, including rookie running back Chase Brown, who was listed as a limited participant with a hamstring injury on Wednesday’s estimated practice report.
Bengals RB Chase Brown Practicing After Limited Listing Wednesday
Brown, who spent four weeks on injured reserve with a hamstring injury that delayed his immersion into the offensive plan, was back to full participation today.
The fifth-round pick from the University of Illinois came off IR ahead of the Pittsburgh game two weeks ago, but he never saw the field in that game as the Bengals only ran 42 plays, eight of which were handoffs.
So Monday night marked Brown’s coming out party. After logging only two carries all season, Brown rushed nine times for 61 yards in the 34-31 overtime win against the Jaguars. The Bengals went to him early, giving him the ball on their second play of the game, and kept feeding him.
Brown had rushes of 15 and 31 yards, which is the team’s longest of the season.

Also practicing today was right tackle Jonah Williams, who was listed as limited Wednesday with a back injury. The Bengals have started the same offensive linemen in all 12 games this year, and there is no sign that is about to change.
Williams was on the injury report with a shoulder in the week leading up to the Pittsburgh game, but he was a full participant in every practice and played the full game.
The only player missing today was backup offensive lineman D’Ante Smith, who was not on Wednesday’s injury report but had been limited in the weeks prior with a knee issue.
When the official injury report comes out later this afternoon, we’ll see if the knee is the issue again for Smith or if today’s absence was related to an illness, as the Bengals have had several players miss days for that reason for the last couple of weeks.
Update 4:40 pm:
Brown was upgraded to a full participant on the injury report, but there were two new additions. Wide receiver Tyler Boyd was listed as limited with an ankle injury, and rookie cornerback DJ Turner showed up as limited with a hamstring.
Williams was limited again with the back injury, and defensive tackle B.J. Hill, defensive end Sam Hubbard and linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither were limited for the second day in a row with “rest” days.
Smith’s absence as not injury or illness related. He missed practice for personal reasons.
