NFL Playoff Odds Update: Packers Greatly Improve Their Postseason Odds
Just a few weeks ago, the Green Bay Packers were 2-5 and looked like a team destined to be in the quarterback market in the offseason, with first-year starting QB Jordan Love struggling out of the gate. Since then, they’ve gone 4-1, and Love has improved tremendously, looking like Green Bay’s long-term answer at quarterback.
The Packers are now 6-6 and in the final playoff spot in the NFC, as Green Bay wins the tiebreaker over the Los Angeles Rams because of their win in their head-to-head matchup back in Week 9.
Most importantly for Green Bay, after two consecutive wins over contending teams in the Lions and Chiefs, their schedule gets significantly easier the rest of the way. The Packers have games remaining against the Giants, Buccaneers, Panthers, Vikings, and Bears — five teams with a combined 20-40 record.
After their win over the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football, the Packers are now -215 to make the playoffs at FanDuel Sportsbook. Of the four 6-6 teams competing for the final two playoff spots in the NFC, the Packers have by far the shortest odds to make the postseason.

Like Green Bay, Denver also started to emerge as a playoff hopeful after a horrific 1-5 start to the season, entering Week 13 on a five-game winning streak. But after a 22-17 loss to the Texans on Sunday which ended with Russell Wilson throwing an interception in the end zone with nine seconds remaining, the Broncos’ playoff chances are now very slim.
Denver’s loss on Sunday was critical, not only because they fell back to .500, but because they lost to a Wild Card competitor in Houston, giving them the tiebreaker in a head-to-head scenario.
The race for the three Wild Card spots in the AFC is extremely competitive, and the Broncos are now the ninth seed, behind four playoff hopefuls with 7-5 records. After Sunday’s loss, Denver’s playoff odds are +350 at FanDuel — the longest of the AFC teams realistically competing for the Wild Card.
