Chiefs vs. Packers Weather Report: Will Snow Cause Havoc for Travis Kelce, Rashee Rice, Christian Watson, and Others?

With snow in Green Bay on Sunday morning, what is the current weather forecast for Lambeau Field, and what fantasy impact could it have?

Sunday Night Football will see the Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers face off at Lambeau Field. Pictures early on Sunday morning showed snow in Green Bay, creating concern for fantasy football managers that we could see offensive output depressed in the final game of the day.

Let’s take a look at the full weather forecast for Green Bay tonight and the fantasy impact on the likes of Travis Kelce, Rashee Rice, Christian Watson, and others.

Green Bay Weather Report for Kansas City Chiefs vs. Green Bay Packers

    • Temperature: Low-30s
    • Precipitation: 15% chance at kickoff decreasing throughout the game
    • Wind: 7 mph northerly

The weather forecast is from the National Weather Service and is correct as of 9:30 a.m. ET on Sunday, Dec. 3.

The images of Green Bay’s snowy conditions suggest an exhilarating Sunday Night Football to commence December. However, the weather forecast suggests that the snow may not fall once the game begins at 8 p.m. ET.

The forecast currently has the snowfall decreasing throughout the game and potentially being finished by the time the game kicks off at 7 p.m. local time. The majority of the snow that falls during today will have little impact on the game, as the stadium crew will have plenty of time to get the field cleared before kickoff.

Right now the biggest threat of seeing snow on the field is during pre-game warmups. Yet, the amount of snow forecast to be falling at that time is likely to have little impact. Any flurries that we do see during warmups should be cleared by the time the game kicks off at 7 p.m. local time.

Fantasy Football Impact of Buffalo Weather on Travis Kelce, Christian Watson, Rashee Rice, and Others

The threat of snow always makes fantasy managers worry, especially when it comes to the passing and kicking games. Both can be heavily impacted by snowfall both in terms of traveling through the air and the impact of the cold temperature.

Therefore, if you were hoping that the likes of Kelce, Rice, Watson, Harrison Butker, or any of the other kickers and pass catchers could get you to your fantasy playoffs, this morning’s pictures could be concerning.

Overall, the news is positive for fantasy managers when it comes to their options in this game. It doesn’t seem like there should be any major concerns that the weather will impact this game tonight. The snow should be gone, the rain should be light (if at all), and the wind is not set to be at an impactful level.

Even if the forecast does change, it’s hard to imagine anyone being willing to bench Kelce, who the Chiefs tend to try and get involved whenever and however they can. At the tight end position, there aren’t enough reliable alternatives to do anything other than start Kelce and keep your fingers crossed.

As for the other pass catchers and kickers, there doesn’t seem to be anything to worry about as things stand forecast-wise Sunday morning. That forecast has held fairly steady in the last 24 hours, so it shouldn’t be expected to change too dramatically between now and kickoff. If there is some snow still around after kickoff, it shouldn’t be enough to have an impact on the passing games.
