The Green Bay Packers didn’t look like postseason contenders when they fell to 3-6 following a Week 10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. But three straight wins — including an impressive Sunday night victory over the Kansas City Chiefs — put the Packers right back into the race.
What do Green Bay’s playoff chances look like after Week 13? And do they still have a shot at the NFC North title?
Green Bay Packers Playoff Chances After Week 13
For a while, it seemed as though the Dallas Cowboys, Seattle Seahawks, and Minnesota Vikings would run away with the NFC’s Wild Card slots. The Cowboys are still a playoff lock, but recent losses by the Seahawks and Vikings have made their positions far less secure and thrown the race for the conference’s sixth and seventh seeds into chaos.

Ten of the NFC’s 16 teams have between four and six wins. At 6-6, the Packers are in the middle of that pack and currently hold the No. 7 seed, just inside the playoff picture.
But among the conference’s massive group of mid-level clubs, Green Bay might have the best chance of grabbing the sixth or seventh seed. The Packers have a 66% of making the postseason, higher than any NFC Wild Card contender aside from Dallas, per the New York Times’ projection model.
Love has been outstanding (eight TDs, no interceptions) over the past three weeks, but Green Bay’s odds are primarily based on the team’s remaining schedule, one of the easiest closing slates in the NFL:
- Week 14: at NYG
- Week 15: vs. TB
- Week 16: at CAR
- Week 17: at MIN
- Week 18: vs. CHI
Can the Packers Still Win the NFC North?
Technically, the Packers still have a chance to earn the NFC North crown. But they’re three games behind the Lions with five games to go, so their odds are unsurprisingly minuscule.
Green Bay has just a 2% chance to win the division, per the NYT. The Vikings, which still gets to play Detroit twice this year, also have a 2% chance. But the Lions are the clear favorite.
The Packers have already faced Detroit twice, splitting the season series. While that means the Lions don’t hold a head-to-head tiebreaker over Green Bay, it also means the Packers won’t get another chance to take down Detroit this season.
