Dak Prescott walked back to AT&T Stadium to several leftover Dallas Cowboys fans on the field after an exhausting night featuring playoff implications. Right away, he was caught on camera being bombarded with a strong three-letter chant: “M-V-P! M-V-P! M-V-P!”
The Cowboys quarterback not only delivered 29 of 41 passing for 299 yards and three touchdowns, but he got his team to erase a late eight-point deficit to win 41-35 over the Seattle Seahawks. With that outing, fans took to social media to declare Prescott the league’s Most Valuable Player.
3-Time Super Bowl Winner Endorses Dak Prescott’s MVP Status
Prescott has his backers for MVP. Among them is a past three-time Super Bowl winner and former two-time 1,000-yard rusher.
LeGarrette Blount, who won the big game with the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles, believes Prescott just stated his case for the NFL‘s top individual award.
“Dak definitely made his case for why he’s a MVP candidate! Been playing great but this game looked different! Hell yeah he is a MVP candidate!” Blount posted on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Even before Blount’s praise, Prescott was given the label of potential MVP candidate by Robert Griffin III. The ESPN personality and former NFL quarterback said before the Cowboys win how Prescott is involved in a two-person race for the coveted award.
Dak Prescott is Top 2 in the MVP race and the @dallascowboys offense has drastically improved for 3 reasons:
1-Increased usage of pre-snap motion
2-Moving CeeDee Lamb all around the formation
3- @dak using his legs more to create pic.twitter.com/WjllDlJiy9— Robert Griffin III (@RGIII) November 30, 2023
Cowboys ESPN reporter Todd Archer credited Prescott for not backing down after sustaining so many hits from an aggressive Seahawks defense.

What did those in the locker room think?
Mike McCarthy Chimes in on Prescott’s MVP Candidacy
While Prescott is hearing the famed three letters, what is his head coach Mike McCarthy thinking?
McCarthy told reporters postgame that Prescott’s presence gives him and the Cowboys the instant choice of going into attack mode.
“We want to attack and you can only do that with a championship-caliber quarterback, and Dak is that guy,” McCarthy said in his postgame presser.
How aggressive was Prescott? He even evaded pass rushers by overpowering them and extending the play — as seen here on this eventual completion.

Prescott’s ability to will the Cowboys to victory only added to his case after weeks of beating up on pretty bad teams.
Prescott’s Current Roll Is Fueling MVP Chatter
Prescott has flipped a switch from his first six games of the season.
He didn’t have a single three-touchdown outing when Dallas began the year 4-2, nor had he delivered a 300-yard contest. Since then, his numbers have been far different. Here’s the roll Prescott has been on:
- Four 300-yard games in his last six contests
- Has completed 65% or more of his passes each week since Week 6
- Has thrown for either three or four touchdowns in five of his last six games
- Has tossed 20 touchdowns to just two interceptions in these last six games
What’s more, Prescott has gotten Dallas to shake off an early embarrassing loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Following the 42-10 debacle on Oct. 8, Prescott has guided the Cowboys to a 6-1 record.
And against Seattle, he showed his mastery against zone coverage. Per Next Gen Stats, Prescott completed 26 of his passes and threw all three of his touchdowns facing zone coverage. Furthermore, he’s posted an NFL-best 10 touchdown passes against zone this season.

Dallas hasn’t produced an MVP winner in 30 years, with Emmitt Smith being the last to win the prestigious honor. Prescott just raised the chances of a Cowboy winning it with his latest epic showing.
The “M-V-P” chants have begun to grow loud and clear in Dallas — and now across the league.
