Fantasy Injury Update: Derrick Henry, D’Andre Swift, and Samaje Perine Impacting Week 12 Rankings

    Published on

Many RBs are dealing with injuries as fantasy managers start the push to the playoffs. What is the latest on Derrick Henry, D'Andre Swift, and Samaje Perine?

There are a couple of weeks left before the fantasy football playoffs, and health is paramount for your roster. Do you need to pick up an insurance RB because of an injury? Here are the latest updates on Derrick Henry, D’Andre Swift, and Samaje Perine.

RB Injury Updates in Week 12

    Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans

Henry has not been having the same year that fantasy managers have been used to; he is currently the RB15 on the season, far from the usual top-five finish we are used to seeing.

Henry was limited at practice on Wednesday leading up to the Week 12 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. He seems to be dealing with an ankle injury, and this limited status might simply be a veteran maintenance day. Managers should keep an eye on the injury reports for the rest of the week in case they need to pivot.

If Henry is unavailable this week, Tyjae Spears would get an uptick in carries. He is currently RB43 on the year.

    D’Andre Swift, Philadelphia Eagles

Swift has been having a fantastic year, running behind a Philadelphia offensive line that has been creating holes big enough for a meteor to plow through. He is currently RB7 with 690 yards rushing and four TDs. However, the Eagles have a big matchup against Buffalo this week, and Swift popped up on the injury report.

He was listed as limited in the Eagles’ Wednesday walkthrough due to his ankle. If Swift has a setback and cannot play in Week 12, we could see more designed runs for QB Jalen Hurts, as well as more carries for Kenneth Gainwell.

    Samaje Perine, Denver Broncos

This week, the surging Denver Broncos take on the Cleveland Browns and their formidable defense. Besides RB Javonte Williams, Perine has also been contributing to the ground game for Denver. Perine is currently the RB46 and is coming off a solid Week 11, where he was the RB20. He had 67 all-purpose yards against Minnesota last week.

Perine appeared on the injury report today and was listed as limited in practice due to a knee injury. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on Perine’s status as the week progresses. The Browns allow the ninth-fewest fantasy points to opposing RBs.
