The noise around the Pittsburgh Steelers offense and a perceived need for a change has been percolating for quite some time now. Fans and others around the team have long been calling for something to change. Whether it is by firing offensive coordinator Matt Canada or some other way to jump-start the production, the consensus is that something must occur.
The ineptitude is getting national attention these days, and you can add another name to the group of people calling for a change.
Dan Orlovsky Has Harsh Criticism for Steelers Offense
On the latest episode of “Get Up” on ESPN, NFL analyst Dan Orlovksy shared his thoughts about the state of the Steelers offense, and he held no punches with his assessment.
“They call an offense hoping they don’t lose the game. This offense is as boring as standstill — if you’re a Steelers fan, you know the play before it ever gets snapped the ball,” Orlovsky started.
“It’s a failure right now, given how great this defense is, to continue forward with what they’re presenting on the field on a daily basis.”
Orlovksy used his platform to share the sentiment of so many die-hard Steelers fans who have been calling for some changing of the guard. The idea that the Steelers defense — one of the best in the NFL — may get spoiled due to ineffective offensive play is surely maddening for those around the organization.
Players Are Fed Up as Well
Fresh off a 13-10 loss to Dorian Thompson-Robinson and the Cleveland Browns, the sense of frustration felt in the locker room was obvious.
When asked his thoughts following the loss, running back Najee Harris kept it real with his feelings on the matter.

“There’s just a lot of stuff that just goes around that you guys don’t see,” the running back said via ESPN. “I guess I’m trying to say it’s just; I’m just at a point where I’m just tired of this s—.”
While it may not be ideal to hear players speak about the situation in that manner, Harris may have a bone to pick following Week 11. The Steelers gained 12 total first downs in the entire game, netted a measly 249 total yards, and had just two drives on the day with more than one first down while going three-and-out four times.
Whatever the plan in Pittsburgh is right now, it needs to be changed. National media is seeing it, and more importantly, the frustration is boiling over into the locker room now as well.
