The TE position remains the weakest in fantasy football. That makes trading for tight ends exceedingly difficult. Unraveling all that we saw in Week 11 and translating it into Week 12 TE trade targets is where fantasy managers can differentiate themselves.
To help you get your head around it all, here are our thoughts on some tight ends to buy low or sell high entering Week 12.
Which TEs Should You Trade for in Fantasy Football?
Jake Ferguson, Dallas Cowboys
You want pieces of the Dallas Cowboys‘ passing attack. But CeeDee Lamb is too expensive, and Brandin Cooks isn’t good enough. That leaves Jake Ferguson as the guy to target in a trade.
Ferguson only caught three balls for 32 yards against the Panthers. The Cowboys also had a positive game script throughout.

The remaining schedule is very conducive to passing. The Cowboys face some difficult opponents with offenses that will require them to keep pace. That means more targets for Ferguson. Buy him now if you can.
Which TEs Should You Trade Away in Fantasy Football?
Dalton Schultz, Houston Texans
After a slow start to the season, Dalton Schultz has surged as of late. He’s scored double-digit fantasy points in six of his last seven. Over that span, he’s also scored five touchdowns.
Schultz has benefited from a favorable tight end schedule, though. And that’s all about to change.

In the fantasy playoffs, Weeks 15-17, Schultz faces the two best defenses against tight ends (the Texans play the Titans twice). He will be as touchdown-dependent as ever against teams that don’t surrender touchdowns to his position.
It’s exceedingly difficult to trade tight ends because you’re not going to be able to find a replacement on the waiver wire. But if you have two, or your trade partner can give you one back, Schultz is a great guy to move.

Should You Trade Dalton Schultz for Sam LaPorta?
Over the past few weeks, Schultz has been more productive than Sam LaPorta. This is a great time to use that to your advantage and possibly package Schultz with a small piece to acquire the rookie.
Schultz’s schedule is going to do him no favors. It started this past week, when he caught just two passes. Fortunately, he salvaged his day with a touchdown. That could trick the unassuming fantasy manager into thinking Schultz is still fine. I don’t think he will be.
LaPorta has underwhelmed for two straight games. But his schedule is about to really open up. After the Packers this Thursday, the Lions play three straight games against bottom-10 tight-end defenses. Now is a great time to go after him.
Should You Trade David Njoku for Jake Ferguson?
After a slow start to the season, David Njoku has been on fire lately. He’s hit double-digit fantasy points in five straight games while playing with three different quarterbacks.
Last week, Njoku commanded a whopping 15 targets. He has 13 receptions in his last two games.
With Dorian Thompson-Robinson at quarterback, Njoku’s touchdown upside is reduced, but the volume has been very sticky as of late. I buy that it will continue.
While I do like Ferguson and think this is a great time to see if you can pluck him away from his manager, I would hang onto Njoku in this scenario.
