Kupp had just one catch for 11 yards on one target in the first half before sustaining the injury. The star wide receiver entered Sunday with 23 catches for 364 yards and one touchdown in five appearances. He previously missed the first four weeks of the season with a hamstring injury.
Kupp was initially deemed questionable to return with an ankle injury by the Rams. He was seen on the sideline with his helmet trying to get loose early in the second half but was ultimately ruled out for the remainder of the game.
Rams head coach Sean McVay told reporters after the game that he did not have an update on Kupp. He also said Kupp was going to attempt to reenter the game, but his ankle just did not feel good enough, according to Rams writer Stu Jackson.
Fantasy Implications of Cooper Kupp Injury
The Rams can’t seem to stay fully healthy for more than a single game this season. Prior to his injury, Kupp had just one catch for 11 yards as the Rams offense has continued to struggle, even with QB Matthew Stafford back under center.
When Kupp missed the first four games of the season with a hamstring injury, rookie WR Puka Nacua went on a historic tear to start his NFL career and was firmly in the WR1 conversation on a weekly basis.
Along with Nacua getting a big boost in fantasy value, WR Tutu Atwell will also get a bump into top 35 consideration on a weekly basis if Kupp misses any time in the near future.
