Should You Start De’Von Achane or Raheem Mostert in Fantasy Football in Week 11?

Which one of the Dolphins' RBs -- De'Von Achane and Raheem Mostert -- should fantasy managers go with vs. the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 11?

For fantasy football managers, one of the biggest questions regarding the Miami Dolphins and the running back situation for Week 11 is: “Who is going to get the ball?”

De’Von Achane and Raheem Mostert have both at times this year been as good as any other fantasy running back. In the past few weeks with Achane out, Mostert has continued to be one of the best running backs in fantasy football. However, with Achane back, which one of these two Dolphins speedsters should you have in your lineup?

Should You Start De’Von Achane or Raheem Mostert This Week?

In the Pro Football Network Start/Sit Optimizer, our Consensus Rankings say that Achane is the player to start. His projected 13.3 points include 61 rushing yards, three catches, and 21 receiving yards. That projected stat line barely outperforms the consensus projections of Mostert’s 11.2 points.

Achane is back, and don’t be surprised if he is back to having monster games. Both running backs could find themselves having a big game, but Achane’s game-breaking speed is why he should be on your team.

Fantasy Outlook for Achane This Week

Look, if you have Achane on your roster still (I do), you are absolutely ecstatic having him back and healthy. While he has played only four games this year, he has shown incredible potential.

Despite missing five games, Achane remains in the top seven of the league in scrimmage touchdowns (seven). Achane still leads the NFL in scrimmage yards per game (131.8) and is capable of scoring a touchdown every single time he touches the ball. The Las Vegas Raiders have been playing much better football as of late, but they have also beaten only the New York Giants and New York Jets.

There is risk as Mostert is tied with Christian McCaffrey with 13 total touchdowns in the NFL.

Fantasy Outlook for Mostert This Week

While I think Achane is going to have a big game against the Raiders, Mostert is also going to be involved and get opportunities to carry the ball and get in the end zone. Mostert’s 11 rushing touchdowns lead the NFL — his 13 scrimmage touchdowns are tied for the most in the NFL — and he has scored a touchdown in seven of his nine games.

Mostert has been absolutely fantastic this year, as his 5.6 yards per carry leads the NFL (of all rushers with a minimum of 75 attempts).

What makes the Dolphins running backs so good is that they are both able to play the exact same style. They both have incredible speed and can make plays catching the ball.

It hasn’t really mattered for Mostert whether or not Achane has played, he is averaging right around 12 carries per game.

When the Dolphins are on, they have the ability to put up points with any team in the NFL. I would not be shocked at all if both of these running backs got in the endzone. They have had multiple games where both of them scored touchdowns. However, don’t be surprised if the Dolphins bring Achane in full-time and he has a big day.
