Should You Start Breece Hall or D’Andre Swift in Fantasy Football Week 11?

Is Breece Hall facing the Bills a better matchup than D'Andre Swift battling the Chiefs? Let's decide on a starter for your fantasy lineup.

Both the New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles have big-time opponents on their respective schedules for this week. Does Breece Hall have a better chance to put up a solid fantasy stat line against the Buffalo Bills, or will D’Andre Swift come up with a huge game in prime time against the defending champions?

Let’s take a look at each player’s fantasy football outlook for Week 11.

Should You Start Breece Hall or D’Andre Swift This Week?

In the Pro Football Network Start/Sit Optimizer, our Consensus Rankings say that Swift is the player to start. His projected 16.5 points include 40 rushing yards, five catches, and 38 receiving yards. That projected stat line barely outperforms the consensus projections of Hall (15.8 points).

However, when you isolate my rankings, I see Hall outperforming Swift this week. While neither has played well of late, Hall’s pass-catching ability has been solid over the last few weeks.

Fantasy Outlook for Hall This Week

When it comes to just producing on the ground, Hall has been slowed by opposing defenses over the last few weeks. Since running for a career-high 177 yards in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos, Hall has rushed for 134 yards over his last four games.

    That’s total rushing yards.

While it’s been rough for Hall — 2.5 yards per carry over his last four games — this slump figures to come to an end at some point. And the Bills could very well be that opponent since it was Buffalo that Hall had his first 100-yard game of the season against. In Week 1, he posted 127 yards, largely due to a massive 83-yard run.

The other silver lining in the dark cloud that is the Jets’ offense is Hall’s ability to catch passes. Hall has more receiving yards over his last four games (187) than rushing yards (134). In that span, he is also averaging 4.5 receptions per game.

A problem for Hall — and New York — is the fact that the Jets are not a good team. This season, Hall has averaged 83.8 more scrimmage yards in wins than losses. When he creates big plays, they win. If not, New York, and Hall’s fantasy managers, struggle.

The Optimizer projects Hall to finish with 57 rushing yards along with three receptions for 33 receiving yards.

Fantasy Outlook for Swift This Week

Like Hall, Swift has had his troubles over his last four games, barely averaging over three yards per carry (3.1) and less than 50 rushing yards per game (45.0).

He has not looked impressive running the ball since Week 3 vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when he had the second of his back-to-back 100-yard rushing games (130 rush yards).

Even one of his main traits as running back — catching the ball out of the backfield — hasn’t been there in recent weeks. Following his Week 6 effort against the Jets, when Swift had a season-high eight catches for 40 yards and a touchdown, Swift has just seven total catches in three games.
