Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup had a resurgence of production on Sunday, and everyone around him is taking notice. Gallup had two receptions for 70 yards, the second-most receiving yards he has had this season. But the highlight of Gallup’s night was the 41-yard touchdown catch from Dak Prescott in the third quarter.
After the game, Gallup said he felt great, and the game warmed up his heart.

“It’s not about getting in the box. It’s going up and making that play again and hearing the crowd. It was definitely fun for me, and I love seeing all of my brothers eating,” said Gallup.
The 27-year-old said it was a long time coming for him and joked around, saying he forgot how to celebrate after the touchdown. It was 300 days since Gallup’s last touchdown in the Cowboys’ NFC Wild Card Round game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Gallup recalled Chad Bohling, Dallas’ mental conditioning coach, approaching him when he returned to the sideline and said, “one play,” something Bohling told him for the last two weeks.
The receiver says Bohling had been telling him to make one play that everyone would remember him by, and he did.

After the game, Prescott didn’t shy away from supporting the receiver, saying, “If anyone has been a fan of him, everyone in here can attest that it’s me.”
Dak said that despite Gallup’s adversity this season, the last thing he will do is fold because of it.
“You get the ball up, you give him an opportunity, and watch him do the rest. When he can do that, other guys are winning,” said Prescott.

Brandin Cooks, who had his most productive game of the season on Sunday, spoke about Gallup’s performance, saying, “It’s going to take us all. [Gallup], he’s a freak of nature. Tonight showed that. For him to keep going, I believe so much in him.”
Cowboys’ Coaches and Front Office Encouraged By Gallup’s Performance
In Week 6 against the Chargers, Gallup had 10 targets but only three catches for 24 yards. Since then, his snap count has taken a hit.
However, the Cowboys’ front office and coaches also took notice of Gallup looking like a vintage version of himself once again. Jerry Jones said on 105.3 The Fan said he was encouraged by what he saw from Gallup in the game.
Jones said Gallup can get the ball in contested situations, calling his ability to get the ball unique. Brian Schottenheimer echoed Jones’ sentiment about Gallup, adding that his performance shows how much Prescott trusts him to make those big plays.
“Really excited about him, again there is one ball. So as the ball gets spread around, whether it’s Brandin [Cooks] or [Gallup], whoever, just keep running. Dak’s gonna find you,” said Schottenheimer.
The offensive coordinator stated Gallup’s ability to stay focused and engaged in the game, even when the ball isn’t coming to him, has been impressive.
He also credited Gallup’s work and film study to grow his ability to move around in the offense more than he has done in the past.
All the right things are happening for Gallup to skyrocket into fortifying a more productive role in the offense.
