It looks as if Monday night was the final straw for the Buffalo Bills offense. After suffering their fifth loss of the season to drop to 5-5, the Bills have opted to fire their current offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey. The move comes after quarterback Josh Allen continues to struggle with protecting the football. While doing so is always a problem, it seems to be more prevalent than ever.
With Dorsey’s firing comes an opportunity for another person to step into the role. That person is Joe Brady. Let’s take a closer look at who Brady is and what he brings to Buffalo’s offense as the interim offensive coordinator.
Who Is Joe Brady?
Brady is a 34-year-old NFL coach who was born in Miami Lakes, Florida, and grew up in Pembroke Pines, where he was a four-year letter winner as a wide receiver at Everglades High School.
Brady played wide receiver in college at the University of William and Mary. He never played football in the NFL and opted to jump right into coaching when his playing days were over in college.
Brady’s Coaching Career
Fresh off his playing days, Brady jumped right into the coaching world with his alma mater and began coaching linebackers at William and Mary. After one season, he spent the following year as a graduate assistant at Penn State.
Brady’s rise to the NFL was a quick one, and just two years into his coaching career, he would break into the league ranks as an offensive assistant for the New Orleans Saints in 2017.

After just one season with the Saints, Brady opted to go back to college, where he became the passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach for LSU. He once again was one and done in his role, however, and made his final jump back into the NFL, where he has stayed since after joining the Carolina Panthers as their offensive coordinator.
After only one season as the Panthers’ OC, Brady was fired and latched on with the Bills for the 2022 season as the quarterbacks coach. That role was left vacant when Ken Dorsey was promoted from the position to offensive coordinator last season.
Fast forward to the current day, and Dorsey is now out of the picture, with Brady once again filling his previous role. He now looks to get the Bills’ offense back on track for the remainder of the 2023 season.
