There is good and bad news on the injury front for the Cincinnati Bengals heading into the quick turnaround for the Thursday night game at Baltimore.
Head coach Zac Taylor said defensive end Trey Hendrickson is considered day to day rather than week to week after having an MRI on his right knee following a freak injury where Houston wide receiver Noah Brown tripped and fell backward into Hendrickson at the end of Sunday’s 30-27 loss.
“Obviously, a short week is always challenging, but we’ll see how it goes,” Taylor said.

Defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo said he’s keeping his fingers crossed that he will have the services of the other bookend on his defensive line, Sam Hubbard, who missed Sunday’s game with an ankle injury.
But the prognosis sounds less optimistic for wide receiver Tee Higgins, who suffered a hamstring injury in practice Thursday and missed Sunday’s game. With Higgins not expected to play, per reports, it will mean another heavy workload for Trenton Irwin, who caught a 32-yard touchdown pass from Joe Burrow to cap Cincinnati’s opening drive against Houston.

The Bengals did not practice today, but they issued a simulated injury report that listed five players as non-participants — Higgins, Hendrickson, Hubbard, rookie wide receiver Andrei Iosivas (knee), and defensive tackle DJ Reader (non-injury related/rest).

Three players were listed as limited, including two who have been on the injury report the last couple of weeks in linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither (knee) and defensive tackle Josh Tupou (shoulder).
But also appearing as limited was cornerback Chidobe Awuzie with a knee. Awuzie, who tore his ACL last October, has been on the injury report with a back injury this season, but this is the first time he’s appeared with the designation.
One player who is not on the injury report is Ja’Marr Chase, whose availability Sunday was in question right up until game time. Chase fought through a painful back injury to catch five passes for 124 yards and a touchdown.
Cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt (finger) and wide receiver Charlie Jones, who is still on Injured Reserve due to a thumb injury, were listed as full participants.
Taylor-Britt had been on the injury report last week with a quad, then injured his finger in Sunday’s game, missing only a couple of snaps.
