Is Shedeur Sanders the Next Tom Brady, Michael Vick? Colorado QB Makes Bold Claim

Is Shedeur Sanders the next great NFL quarterback? He seems to think so, as the Colorado QB compared his game to Tom Brady and Michael Vick.

There is nothing wrong with having confidence and a supreme belief in yourself. And when you are the son of Deion Sanders, those beliefs are surely instilled in you from a very young age. No one can say Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders doesn’t believe in himself or his abilities, and his latest comments comparing himself to greats are further proof.

Early in the college football season, the Sanders family and what they were doing in Colorado was the talk of the sport. Fast forward to the current day, and they are now 4-5 and further proof that everything that glitters may not be gold. However, that hasn’t stopped Shedeur from offering up a confident NFL comparison for himself.

Shedeur Sanders the Next Tom Brady or Michael Vick?

When Shedeur was asked who he thinks is a fair comparison to his playing style, he did not hold back when it came to name-dropping some of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game.

“I’ll say it’s a mixture because I’m able to stay in the pocket and deliver the ball. I can play like [Tom] Brady, but I’m also able to extend plays, and if it’s not there, take it like [Mike] Vick,” Sanders said. “It’s funny whenever situations in the game occur, they’re like, ‘hey, you gotta be Vick tonight. You gotta be Mike Vick tonight.’ So then that’s when we bring our legs involved,” he continued.

Sanders was then asked if he has a Brady mode and a Vick mode, to which Sanders agreed and alluded to a third mode that he has as well: “Both and a legendary mode.”

There is no doubt that the Sanders family is fully confident in their abilities. While some may not agree with the assessment, the first part is having the belief within you — and Shedeur certainly has that.

Sanders Is the Least of Colorado’s Problems

The Buffaloes’ season is going nowhere fast, as they are currently under .500 and scrapping for bowl eligibility with only three games left to get two more wins. However, that isn’t due to Sanders’ performance.

Early in the season, Shedeur was getting Heisman Trophy talk, and while that has subsided due to the lack of team success, his numbers are still very impressive for a first-year FBS QB. Through nine games, Shedeur has thrown for 2,882 passing yards, 24 touchdowns, and only three interceptions, completing 70.1% of his passes.

Deion knew that coming to Colorado would be a challenge as there was a complete talent overhaul needed to be competitive, and while he was right about that, he was also right about his son being the man for the job under center as well.
