The Dallas Cowboys plan on working out a wide receiver following the team’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Dianna Russini reported that the Cowboys are working out wide receiver Martavis Bryant on Tuesday, who hasn’t played in the NFL since 2018.
Veteran WR Martavis Bryant who has been reinstated by Commissioner Roger Goodell, is expected to workout for the Dallas Cowboys tomorrow.

On 105.3 The Fan, Stephen Jones was asked about the visit and discussed the 31-year-old receiver, saying, “He’s a guy that’s a big, strong, fast receiver that we’ll certainly take a look at.”
Martavis Bryant’s History With Suspensions
This is an interesting choice by the Cowboys, especially because Bryant hasn’t played in an NFL game for the last six years.
Bryant was suspended indefinitely from the NFL in 2018 for violating the terms of his conditional reinstatement from a previous ban he had in April 2017 under the league’s Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.
He has a history of suspensions dating back to his time with the Steelers and Raiders.
Bryant was a fourth-round draft pick by the Steelers in 2014 and showed flashes of talent in his rookie season.
In 2015, his second season with the Steelers, he served a four-game suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

He then had another violation and was banned for the entirety of the 2016 season. He returned to the Steelers in 2017 under a conditional reinstatement and played 15 games.
The receiver was traded to the Raiders in 2018 and would eventually encounter an indefinite suspension by the NFL.
Could Bryant Be a Good Addition to the Cowboys?
Since then, Bryant has continued playing football in multiple leagues, including the Canadian Football League, Indoor Football League, and the XFL.
So, although he could be ready to play, it would be interesting to see if the Cowboys would add depth to an already stacked receiver room.
The Cowboys already have veterans in CeeDee Lamb, Brandin Cooks, and Michael Gallup.
Lamb has been playing his best football, having his most receiving yards in a game in the last two weeks.
Although Cooks has had little involvement, he still has the availability to make an impact in the game for Dak Prescott with his speed and knowledge of the game.
As for Gallup, although he has not played his best, he still has the time to grow and improve as the team goes into the second half of the season.
But the younger players in the room, like Jalen Tolbert, KaVontae Turpin, and Jalen Brooks, have all been impressive since training camp.
This already-stacked room doesn’t need more depth, but it will be intriguing to see how this unfolds after Bryant visits the Star.
