LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered an apparent injury in the second half of the Tigers’ Week 10 game against the Alabama Crimson Tide. What is the latest on his status? Here’s what we know.

Jayden Daniels Injury Status Week 10

Early in the fourth quarter of LSU’s Week 10 contest against Alabama, Daniels took a massive hit from Crimson Tide edge rusher Dallas Turner.

Daniels was hit high, took direct contact, and was crunched between Turner and the ground. After the hard hit with the ground, he lay on the turf for several minutes before being helped off the field by trainers.

Backup quarterback Garrett Nussmeier came in for a play before Daniels returned to the game. But soon after, Daniels left the game again and went to the medical tent for further evaluation.

Later, it was reported by ESPN’s Pete Thamel that Daniels would be out for the rest of the game. He’s currently in concussion protocol.

Daniels had completed 15 of 24 attempts for 219 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception before leaving the game. He’d also rushed for 163 yards and an additional score.

Heading into this game, Daniels had 2,573 yards, 25 touchdowns, and just three interceptions on the year. In addition to his passing stats, he had 521 yards and five touchdowns on the ground.

Daniels’ emergent 2023 campaign has not only earned him fringe Heisman consideration at times but also elevated his stock in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Daniels is now viewed as a potential early-round QB prospect alongside other veterans like Michael Penix Jr. of Washington and Bo Nix of Oregon, and he’s one of several passers in the mix for the QB3 spot behind Drake Maye and Caleb Williams.
