The New York Jets are riding a three-game winning streak into their Monday Night Football matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. The big question heading into this matchup is whether or not any Jets will crack my DFS lineup for the Week 9 prime-time matchup.
Let’s take a closer look.
Top MNF DFS Picks on DraftKings for Week 9
Garrett Wilson, WR, New York Jets ($16,800) – Captain
Don’t look now, but Jets WR Garrett Wilson has produced back-to-back quality fantasy performances even with Zach Wilson under center. The talented wideout has caught 15 of his 25 targets for 190 yards over the last two weeks.
MORE: DFS Lineup Optimizer
The Chargers are giving up an average of 34.4 fantasy points per game to opposing WRs. If we believe the Jets could be playing from behind in this game, then this feels like an ideal game script and matchup for Wilson to possibly have his best game of the 2023 season.
Austin Ekeler, RB, Los Angeles Chargers ($12,000)
After two disappointing fantasy outings coming back from an ankle injury, Ekeler exploded for 123 total and a score against the Chicago Bears in Week 8. Part of his vintage fantasy performance included seven receptions on eight targets, which quickly reminded fantasy managers how dynamic he can be in the passing game.
Ekeler’s efficiency on the ground since returning from injury is a little concerning heading into a tough matchup against the Jet’s defense — just 101 yards on 43 carries over the last three games — but Ekeler should still have more than enough work to justify getting into your DFS lineup for Monday Night Football.
Justin Herbert, QB, Los Angeles Chargers ($11,800)
Justin Herbert looked fantastic against the Bears in Week 8, throwing for 298 yards and three scores with no turnovers. Herbert has thrown for over 290 yards and multiple scores in three of seven games this season.

The Jet’s defense will present Herbert with a legitimate challenge, as they allow an average of just 16.1 fantasy points per game to opposing QBs, but Herbert should find enough big plays in the passing game to find the end zone on a couple of occasions in this contest.
Quentin Johnston, WR, Los Angeles Chargers ($3,600)
With Joshua Palmer not practicing on Saturday, his status for Monday Night Football is in serious jeopardy. Assuming Palmer is out, we could finally see a big role for rookie WR Quentin Johnston. The rookie is coming off of a career day where he posted new personal bests in targets (6), receptions (5), yards (50), and percentage of offensive snaps (70%).
Johnston has mostly been a big fantasy disappointment this season, but this would be his best opportunity to make his case for an expanded role in this offense for the remainder of the 2023 campaign.
Donald Parham Jr., TE, Los Angeles Chargers ($3,200)
The Chargers TE duo of Gerald Everett and Donald Parham have been stuck in a tight-end timeshare for the majority of the season. While Everett missed the team’s game against the Bears last week due to a hip injury, he is trending towards playing in Week 9.
However, even if Everett can go, Parham still has been involved and has more receiving TDs this season. At his price point, he is worth a dart in this contest.
Los Angeles Chargers Defense ($5,000)
The Charger’s defense will have an opportunity to heat Zach Wilson in this prime-time contest, which is something the Chargers can do very well, depending on the matchup.
Wilson has been sacked at least four times in three straight games and could face some pressure from Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa. In addition, Wilson has five interceptions and five fumbles this season. Look for the Chargers to pressure Wilson and potentially force some turnovers in this game.
