Two of the AFC’s best go head-to-head in Frankfurt, Germany, this morning as the Dolphins and Chiefs face off at 9:30 a.m. ET. Miami has finally fit the pieces together to turn their squad into a Super Bowl contender. The defense is starting to have pieces return from injury like CB Jalen Ramsey, and Vic Fangio’s scheme is becoming more effective.

However, the most significant step from seasons past has been the offense’s performance. While there were glimpses last season, the injuries to QB Tua Tagovailoa made it challenging to see what this team could be. A season later, and the results are stunning.

Miami has the best overall offense, averaging 453.3 yards per game, over 60 more yards than the second-place Detroit Lions. They also lead the NFL in points per game, averaging 33.9, five points better than the second-highest scoring team, the Dallas Cowboys.

While a good amount of success can be attributed to the stellar offensive mind of head coach Mike McDaniel, Tua also deserves some credit. The QB’s offseason work to limit injuries and learn how to fall has changed the QB’s game for the better with enhanced pocket presence from a year ago.

Since the start of last season, the Dolphins have thrown 49 touchdowns, the third-most in the NFL. The Chiefs have allowed 44 in that time, tied for the most in the league. Additionally, Tua has thrown 11 red-zone TDs this season, while the Chiefs have surrendered 11 themselves. Can the Miami offense outpace the Chiefs in the NFL Frankfurt game today?
