Micah Parsons is aware of the challenges the Dallas Cowboys will face as they take on the Philadelphia Eagles for the first time this season on Sunday.
Micah Parsons on Preparing for Jalen Hurts and the ‘Tush Push’
Parsons credited Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, saying he is an explosive player.
The edge rusher mentioned Hurts’ ability to process has grown, stating, “From this year to last year, he’s been processing pretty fast on more of an elite level.”
Although Hurts hasn’t been dealing with a knee injury, Parsons says he hasn’t seen anything on film indicating that he is moving differently.
But he did point out that Hurts is sliding more now and getting the yardage he can, compared to to getting the extra yards he usually does.
The Eagles have found a high success rate for their notorious “Tush Push” this season.
According to CBS Sports, the Eagles are 17 of 21 on the play (an 81% success rate).
Parsons says to stop the Eagles from being successful with it, the Cowboys need to be aggressive.

The team hasn’t practiced against the play this week to prevent injuries. Parsons says the key to avoiding this all together in the game on Sunday is to win on first and second down.
“It’s November football now, so this is where the cream rises to the top,” said Parsons.
Parsons on Being a Focal Point
At this point in his career, Parsons is well aware that he is the focus of opposing teams that try to scheme up ways to neutralize him.
The third-year veteran says no matter who the Cowboys face, he knows what his focus is every week.
“I got a job to do. My job is to go out there and make all [offensive coordinators] work and make them feel uncomfortable, make the quarterback uncomfortable. At the end of the day, I gotta do my job week in and week out regardless of who puts us to a higher standard,” said Parsons.
Although the Lion says he has played well so far this season, he isn’t where he wants to be in getting to the quarterback even faster than he already does.
But he says he is staying healthy and playing at a high level — something Parsons credits to the offseason training he put in and is now paying off.
“The work I put in, I definitely see a difference in my body and how I feel even taking care of my and where I’m at each day of the week,” said Parsons.
