    North Carolina WR Devontez Walker appeared to suffer a significant injury in the fourth quarter against Georgia Tech in Week 9.

    Trailing in the fourth quarter against the Georgia Tech Yellowjackets, the North Carolina Tar Heels’ offense suffered a key injury that could alter their season. Star Tar Heels receiver Devontez Walker was assisted off the field with less than three minutes remaining.

    Update: North Carolina announced that Walker had been taken to the hospital after the game for further evaluation. Per R.L. Bynum of the Tar Heel Tribune, Walker said he’s doing fine but did not further elaborate.

    Walker, who was finally cleared to play for the Tar Heels in October after transferring from Kent State, appeared to suffer a significant injury in Week 9. After catching a deep pass over the middle of the field, Walker was hit on his left side. He didn’t see the hit coming and fumbled the ball.

    Walker remained on the field for almost 10 minutes while trainers tended to him. Players kneeled along the field in concern for the junior playmaker. Eventually, Walker stood up and gingerly walked off the field with assistance.
