With the final weekend of October upon us, the NFL weather forecasts are likely only going to get colder, windier, and wetter. Week 8 could see the first appearance of snow for the season, but will it be enough to impact the game or just enough to make things look pretty? Let’s look at the full NFL weather forecast and report for the weekend ahead and how it could impact fantasy football decisions.
All times listed are Eastern Time. Forecasts are supplied by reports from the National Weather Service. Forecasts correct as of 8:30 a.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 28.
Week 8 NFL Weather Report Fantasy Impact
New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins | Sunday, 1 p.m.
- Expected Temperature: High-50s
- Showers: 32% chance at kickoff
- Wind: 14 mph northeasterly with gusts up to 22 mph
The East Coast could be hit heavily by rain throughout the early afternoon on Sunday. For the most part, it is just going to be rain that causes an issue, but in Miami, we could also see wind playing havoc with the deep passing and kicking games.
In general, the 14 mph winds will likely not have too much impact, but the odd gust over 20 mph could make an impact. However, for this particular game, it should be minimal. Yes, the Miami Dolphins take some deep shots, but Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle’s fantasy value is not reliant on them. Both should still be able to put up good numbers this week.
The Patriots are not a team known for their big shots down the field, and the fantasy options that they have are not central enough that there should be concern. If you can avoid the two kickers in this game, it might be wise, but everyone else shouldn’t see a downgrade because of this weather.
New York Jets at New York Giants | Sunday, 1 p.m.
- Expected Temperature: Mid-50s
- Showers: 90% chance at kickoff
- Wind: 6 mph northeasterly
A consistent heavy rain in New York is expected for the matchup between the Jets and Giants. However, it will not be accompanied by heavy winds or cold conditions. Yes, there could be some ball security concerns or silly-looking drops, but we are not expecting a downgrade for any players.

In an uncovered stadium like MetLife, the inconvenience of this weather will be for the fans and the discomfort the players will feel from consistently being wet through. There might be the odd fumble or misplaced throw here, but it is hard to downgrade as turnovers are tough to predict.
Jacksonville Jaguars at Pittsburgh Steelers | Sunday, 1 p.m.
- Expected Temperature: High-50s
- Showers: 90% chance at kickoff
- Wind: 3 mph northerly
The game in Pittsburgh will also be a wet one for fans and players alike. The analysis here is identical to that of the game in Metlife. There will be ball security concerns and discomfort, but the overall fantasy impact is not that large without accompanying high winds.
Atlanta Falcons at Tennessee Titans | Sunday, 1 p.m.
- Expected Temperature: Low-70s
- Showers: 45% chance at kickoff
- Wind: 7 mph southwesterly
The story is similar in Nissan Stadium. The rain is expected to come and go throughout the game, but we should expect at least a little bit of wet weather. Much like the two games above, there is minimal impact here because the weather does not tend to impact fantasy outputs.
Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers | Sunday, 1 p.m.
- Expected Temperature: High-30s to Low-40s
- Showers: 23% chance at kickoff
- Wind: 8 mph northwesterly
The game in Labeau Field is expected to be that annoying combination of wet and chilly.

We could see players struggling with catching or holding onto a football in the cold weather. However, like the other games set to have rain without accompanying winds, we are not talking downgrades for anyone involved.
Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Commanders | Sunday, 1 p.m.
- Expected Temperature: Low-70s
- Showers: 25% chance at kickoff dropping throughout
- Wind: 7 mph southeasterly
There should be no reason to downgrade anyone in this game. There is no certainty the rain or the winds have any impact. You wouldn’t call it a lovely day in Maryland, but it shouldn’t be an issue for fantasy managers.
Houston Texans at Carolina Panthers | Sunday, 1 p.m.
- Expected Temperature: High-70s to Low-80s
- Showers: <10% chance at kickoff
- Wind: 10 mph southwesterly
We should have a lovely day for football down in North Carolina. This battle of two rookie quarterbacks shouldn’t be impacted by winds reaching 10 mph. There is no reason to downgrade fantasy options playing here because of the weather.
Cleveland Browns at Seattle Seahawks | Sunday, 4:05 p.m.
- Expected Temperature: Low-50s
- Showers: <10% chance at kickoff
- Wind: 6 mph northwesterly
The Pacific Northwest is somewhere we look for a bit of weather, but we have a remarkably nice-looking forecast up in Seattle when the Browns visit. It won’t be warm by any means, but there are no concerns here when it comes to downgrading fantasy options.
Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos | Sunday, 4:25 p.m.
- Expected Temperature: High-20s
- Showers: 27% chance at kickoff with possible snow
- Wind: 7 mph northeasterly with gusts up to 15 mph
This game is our first snow warning of the year. The current weather has the game in Denver catching the tail end of the worst snow that will fall during the weekend. There is not expected to be much snow falling during the actual game — the majority is expected overnight and into Sunday morning.
This is good news from a fantasy perspective because between covering the field and the clean-up window just before the 2:25 p.m. local time kickoff, there should not be much snow on the field during the game. Of course, it doesn’t take much for the current forecast to shift back a little and for things to change from that perspective.

If the snow has indeed cleared, then there is no reason to downgrade players here. The cold weather will stop the ball traveling as well through the air as we are used to in Denver, but those elements should balance out to be closer to a “normal” NFL game.
If there is snow in the air at kickoff, then this game could lean heavily towards favoring the backs and short passing game. It is much easier to be an offensive player in snowy conditions because they can make moves while the defenders can only react.
Cincinnati Bengals at San Francisco 49ers | Sunday, 4:25 p.m.
- Expected Temperature: Mid-60s
- Showers: <10% chance at kickoff
- Wind: 10 mph northern with gusts up to 18 mph
This week’s matchup between the Bengals and 49ers at Levi’s Stadium could see some impact of the wind. A base speed of around 10-12 mph is not a concern, and gusts up to 18 mph should not have an impact. Fantasy managers may want to downgrade the kickers on both sides a touch, but that should be it.
Burrow and Purdy are good enough QBs to get the ball to their receivers in these relatively windy conditions. Therefore, there should not be an increased value placed on the running game or any downgrading of the top pass catchers in this one.
