Basically three months to the day after he was carted off the Miami Dolphins practice field, cornerback Jalen Ramsey is likely days away from making his 2023 NFL debut.
Well, that’s ESPN’s report — which gibes with what PFN has heard this week.

Jalen Ramsey Injury Update: Is Miami Dolphins CB Back?
“Full transparency, there’s a CHANCE that I can play this Sunday, but that decision genuinely isn’t made yet so that is news to me just like it is to y’all lol
“I have to go through a whole process to feel GREAT enough to play. I won’t play if I feel any less than GREAT.”
Ramsey’s tweets echo the remarks earlier in the day from Dolphins defensive coordinator Vic Fangio.
“It has yet to be determined if he’ll be able to go on Sunday,” Fangio told reporters Thursday. “He is progressing well, practicing more this week. We’ll see how that turns out by Sunday.”
Still, it’s hard to ignore the momentum that’s building toward Ramsey playing Sunday against the New England Patriots.
And if he does, it would be a remarkable — and frankly, borderline unthinkable — recovery from a significant meniscus injury suffered the second day of training camp.
Whether this week or next, Ramsey will soon suit up in aqua and orange for the first time. The Dolphins acquired him from the Los Angeles Rams in a March trade. Miami gave up just a third-round pick and tight end Hunter Long to acquire Ramsey, a three-time All-Pro.

Ramsey has responded brilliantly since returning to practice last week and apparently has shown enough to convince both doctors and coaches he’s ready to play.
The Dolphins have a good chance of seeing the cornerback group on the field Sunday that they had envisioned before the season. Xavien Howard, assuming he has recovered enough from the groin injury that sidelined him in Week 7, will start at one boundary corner spot. Ramsey will start the other, and Kader Kohou will serve as the nickelback.
“In many ways, not the only way, your corners’ abilities govern the defense,” Fangio said. “If you feel confident in them that they can play good outside the numbers on the routes you get out there, it has an effect on what you do defensively. There is no way around that.”
