Bengals vs. 49ers Player Prop Bets: Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, Christian McCaffrey, and Others

Our favorite Bengals vs. 49ers player prop bets include Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, Christian McCaffrey, and others.

The Cincinnati Bengals and San Francisco 49ers have nearly met in the Super Bowl two years in a row, as they have each made it to the Conference Championship Games in consecutive seasons. Today, we’ll finally get the matchup between these two teams.

In a game featuring stars on the offensive side of the ball like Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, Christian McCaffrey, and Brandon Aiyuk, there is no shortage of player prop bets to choose from. But which Bengals vs. 49ers player prop bets should you be targeting?

Top Bengals vs. 49ers Player Prop Bets To Target

All odds are from DraftKings Sportsbook unless noted otherwise.

    Joe Burrow Player Props

    • Passing Yards: 248.5 (Over -115/Under -115)
    • Pass Touchdowns: 1.5 (Over +114/Under -145)
    • Pass Completions: 24.5 (Over -130/Under +100)
    • Pass Attempts: 37.5 (Over -110/Under -120)
    • Rushing Yards: 8.5 (Over -115/Under -115)
    • Interceptions: 0.5 (Over -125/Under -105)

Blewis: Are we supposed to be convinced that Joe Burrow is 100 percent healthy now because of the bye week? I believe that he is certainly closer to being at full strength than he was earlier this season, but I’m not sure if he is quite there yet.

We all know that Burrow has been struggling to play through his calf injury this season, except in their 34-20 win over the Arizona Cardinals. He threw for 317 yards and three TDs. That was by far the worst defense he has faced all season.

Today, he will be going against a 49ers defense that is eighth in pass-rush win rate, which could give the Bengals’ offensive line fits that are second-to-last in pass-block win rate. In games against elite pass rushes this season, the Bengals have struggled to move the ball through the air, and I think Burrow’s passing yards prop is a bit too high.

Pick: Joe Burrow under 248.5 passing yards (-115 at DraftKings)

    Ja’Marr Chase Player Props

    • Receiving Yards: 83.5 (Over -115/Under -115)
    • Receptions: 7.5 (Over -125/Under -105)
    • Longest Reception: 23.5 (Over -115/Under -115)
    • Anytime Touchdown Scorer: +130
    • First Touchdown Scorer: +750

Blewis: Ja’Marr Chase has three touchdowns this season, but they all came in one game. This is even despite having the fifth-highest red-zone target share in the NFL. Higgins isn’t too far behind Chase in target share in the red zone, but Joe Burrow has been much more efficient throwing to Chase this season — Chase’s completion rate over expectation is 2%, while Higgins is -19.7%.

Joe Mixon has been heavily utilized in the red zone this season, but he hasn’t been efficient with his opportunities, as he has just one rushing touchdown despite getting 100% of their carries inside the 20-yard line. Against a 49ers defense that is one of the best at stopping the run, that should remain the same.

At +130 odds, I think there’s good value on Chase to score a touchdown – he’s due to get back into the end zone.

Pick: Ja’Marr Chase anytime touchdown scorer (+130 at DraftKings)

    Tee Higgins Player Props

    • Receiving Yards: 46.5 (Over -115/Under -115)
    • Receptions: 4.5 (Over +120/Under -150)
    • Longest Reception: 18.5 (Over -120/Under -110)
    • Anytime Touchdown Scorer: +205
    • First Touchdown Scorer: +1200

Katz: Based on Tee Higgins’ 2023 performance, this looks like an awful bet. He’s gone over this number just once in five games. But let’s break that down a bit.

In Week 1, Higgins went catchless. I will chalk that up to a fluke. In Week 2, Higgins smashed with an 8-89-2 line. In Week 3, Higgins just disappeared, catching two passes for 21 yards. In Week 4, Higgins hurt his ribs. He didn’t play Week 5 before returning to Week 6 at less than 100 percent.

Heading into Week 8, the Bengals are coming off their bye. Higgins recovered from his rib injury, and Joe Burrow is the healthiest he’s ever been.

Last season, Higgins went over 45 receiving yards in 10 of his 14 games played. I’m willing to gamble this is the lowest we will see Higgins’ receiving yardage line for the rest of the season.

Pick: Tee Higgins over 45.5 receiving yards (-110 at BetMGM)

    Christian McCaffrey Player Props

    • Rushing Yards: 73.5 (Over -115/Under -115)
    • Rush Attempts: 18.5 (Over -105/Under -125)
    • Receiving Yards: 29.5 (Over -115/Under -115)
    • Receptions: 3.5 (Over -140/Under +110)
    • Anytime Touchdown Scorer: -220
    • First Touchdown Scorer: +310

Blewis: It would be way too easy to tell you to just take Christian McCaffrey to score a touchdown at -220, as he has scored in 16 straight games, including the postseason, or to score the first touchdown at +310, but you don’t need me to tell you that. So, I’ll give out a different McCaffrey player prop bet instead.

Deebo Samuel’s absence has created an opportunity for one of the 49ers’ playmakers to make up for his 5.33 targets per game, and the beneficiary last week was Jauan Jennings, who led the way with nine targets. McCaffrey only had three targets for the third consecutive week, but he did have a 35-yard touchdown catch.

San Francisco 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (23) breaks a tackle against the New York Giants.
September 21, 2023; Santa Clara, California, USA; San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey (23) runs past New York Giants linebacker Micah McFadden (41) during the second quarter at Levi’s Stadium.

If not for that touchdown reception, McCaffrey finished the day with just 16 receiving yards in their first game without Samuel. Overall, for the season, McCaffrey hasn’t been utilized as much as a receiver as you would expect, with just two games with more than 35 receiving yards.

For the season, the Bengals have allowed the 4th-fewest receptions to running backs at an average of just 3.33 per game. With plus money on the under for his receptions prop, I like taking a flier there.

Pick: Christian McCaffrey under 3.5 receptions (+110 at DraftKings)

    Brandon Aiyuk Player Props

    • Receiving Yards: 67.5 (Over -115/Under -115)
    • Receptions: 4.5 (Over -175/Under +135)
    • Longest Reception: 24.5 (Over -120/Under -110)
    • Anytime Touchdown Scorer: +130
    • First Touchdown Scorer: +700

Broyles: The 49ers will likely be missing WR Deebo Samuel for this contest, which should free up opportunities for fellow receiver Brandon Aiyuk. The 49ers offense wasn’t quite itself on Monday Night Football, so expect a bounce-back performance.

The Bengals head into this contest following their bye week, so it is fair to expect the healthiest Joe Burrow we have seen in 2023, which means this game could turn into a shootout.

Aiyuk must perform if the 49ers are to keep pace with Cincinnati. I’ll take the Over on the receiving yards prop.

Pick: Brandon Aiyuk over 67.5 receiving yards (-115 at DraftKings)
